COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Reverend, was created in tribute to the life of Sales Mgr. Tom Boogaard's grandfather, an ordained Episcopal Reverend. Tom was inspired by the life of his grandfather and wanted to create a tribute beer that contained his sterling traits. True to both our "small brewery, BIG BEERS" philosophy and to the spirit and character of the departed Reverend, this beer is strong willed, assertive, and pure of heart, a heart of candy sugar. It contains as many authentic imported Belgian specialty malts as the brewers could cram into our mash tun, and lots of Belgian dark candy sugar stirred into the brew kettle. A divinely complex and beautifully layered beer with hints of dark cherries, currants, and molasses, complimented by an underlying spiciness. Sinfully smooth considering the high alcohol content. Cellarable for 4 years.

Bomber shared by marcdesthya.
Appearance : Clear peach-colored with a small head. Short retention. Some lacing.
Aroma : Quite yeasty and quite spicy with some fruits.
Taste : Yeasty and spicy with some fruits. Finish is bitter and spicy. Body is rather thin. Finish is quite dry and not very sweet. Not much alcohol. Enjoyable carbonation level.
Overall : Goof stuff but nothing really special. Body may be a bit thin for the style. Uneventful.

Sweet aroma of caramel malt. The taste is fruity and sweet and the caramel malt is very present in the flavor. The alcohol is also present but not overwhelming.

Tasted from a bomber purchased in Fort Collins, Colorado. Pours a medium head with a slightly dark copper body. Very nice sweet head. Amazing sweet Belgian taste. One of the better American Quadrupels out there.

Score is probably a bit biased, never was a huge fan of wheat beers. Pours a clear amber color with a frothy head. Aroma is of wheat grass and ripe fruit rinds, a bit of banana as well. Heavy mouthfeel, taste is consistent with the smell, I got a lot of fruit rinds.

A pretty average Belgian style. The initial flavors are right on, but the aftertaste is too subtle and not flavorful enough.

Dark red/brown color. I used a goblet type glass to bring out the aroma, but it was not as aromatic as similar beers. The flavor was not that great. Overall, I expected more complexity and flavor from a quadrupel. It is worth trying once

Pours a surprisingly crystal clear copper color and a thin head. The aroma is full with raisins, plums, other sweet rich dark fruits, and a nice presence of baked cookies. The flavor is rather sweet with raisins and plums. Alcohol is definitely noticeable. The finish is rather sweet.
