4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 SSKD814 (854) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 20, 2010
A- Beautiful clear amber/brown body with some bubbles rising to the top. Large foamy white head that lasts and lasts. Plenty of lacing is left behind in the glass. This is one beer that is just great to look at.
S- Lots of dark fruits like grapes and cherries. Hints of yeast, spice, and alcohol in the background.
T- Spicy yeast is the first to hit the palate. Grape, cherry and apple along with alcohol are strong and noticeable in the background. Belgian sugars and caramel are subtle but can be noticed. Finish is of spicy yeast with an alcohol burn. This has a good balance and is pretty tasty. It could probably be a little bit more complex.
P- Medium carbonation and smooth creamy yeasty body. Goes down very easily.
O- This was a great treat but one was quite enough for the night. The alcohol is strong and noticeable in this brew. I wanted to switch to an easy session ale after having it. Something I enjoyed and I will have again. Another great offering from Avery

It looks dumb. Like a cloudy apple juice. The nose is of light ginger and apples again. I’m not sure where their getting the Quad thing from here. Rich and woody in the mouth though that freaking apple juice is still totally in control. I’m just not totally sure about it. Sweet and sticky like a jam almost. I think it’s the candi sugar. Pft.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 elpresidente19 (30) - Colorado, USA - APR 15, 2010
The aroma is mostly of dried figs, raisins, and candied sugar. The head is off white and leaves a sticky lacing around the rim of the glass, but dissapates quickly. My first impression of this beer is of dark fruits, candied sugars and toffee. But with each taste i get a new flavor... everything from a bit of orange peel to whiskey. even though this beer is 10% it goes down incredibly easy. The palate is smooth and luscious, nothing aggressive at all. I will definitely be buying this one again!
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 monkeychugg55 (681) - Joliet, Illinois, USA - APR 12, 2010
Pours a copper orange with a small diminishing head. The aroma has banana, sour cherries, white grape, and toffee. The flavor is similar for the most part, with some spices and slight tartness. Pretty sweet, with a warm, dry finish. Full bodied for a quad, with soft, tingling carbonation.

Such a big bad quad. The color is deep dark brownish red and pours a nice head. The nose is filled with spice and big candy sweetness. The taste is very complex and delicious- sweet candy, a slight dryness from the hop, fresh bread, lots of spice and even some currant. and all rounded out with a balanced alcoholic warmth. I love this beer, one of Avery’s best.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 glennmastrange (1547) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - APR 5, 2010
Bottle. Heavy malt aromas of caramel and nutty, moderate orange for the hops, light dough for the yeast, and background notes of raisin, butterscotch and brown sugar. Head is small, creamy, white with some slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear orange/red. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then the lingering finish is moderately sweet and acidic and lightly bitter. Palate is mediumto full, between oily and creamy with a soft to lively carbonation and a finish that’s moderately astringent and heavily alcoholic. This Quadrupel starts off really well but it gets a little bitey and the astringency knocked off a point. All in all a pretty good beer. Warming it intensifies it’s alcoholic punch in the finish

Pours orangish/copper with a thin white head and medium retention. Light lacing on the glass. Aroma is of yeast, cloves, bananas and a spiciness I can’t put my finger on. Flavor is yeasty and sweet with a slight alcohol burn on the finish. The alcohol is hidden well for the ABV. Some apples on the tongue as well. Mouthfeel is crisp and it made me burp. Would buy again.
