Commercial Description:
The Reverend, was created in tribute to the life of Sales Mgr. Tom Boogaard's grandfather, an ordained Episcopal Reverend. Tom was inspired by the life of his grandfather and wanted to create a tribute beer that contained his sterling traits. True to both our "small brewery, BIG BEERS" philosophy and to the spirit and character of the departed Reverend, this beer is strong willed, assertive, and pure of heart, a heart of candy sugar. It contains as many authentic imported Belgian specialty malts as the brewers could cram into our mash tun, and lots of Belgian dark candy sugar stirred into the brew kettle. A divinely complex and beautifully layered beer with hints of dark cherries, currants, and molasses, complimented by an underlying spiciness. Sinfully smooth considering the high alcohol content. Cellarable for 4 years.

Pours dark orange nice white head. Very sweet mostly brown sugar, and some caramel, and dark fruits, raisins, some slight apple, pretty tasty.

This is a wickedly awesome beer, that had a euphoric effect on me that has captivated me every since the last swallow. For a strong beer the flavor was anything but overwhelming, washing down clean with little in the way of a alcoholic aftertaste. The real beauty of this beer is the feeling in the belly, which I can only compare to cognac. This is best suited for an afterdinner drink, that is sipped instead of gulped. Under the wrong circumstances I am certain this beer would be too much to handle, but in the correct time and place - a small slice of heaven. Cheers.

22 oz bottle. Pours amber with a medium white head that dissolves fairly quickly. Aroma is heavily bubble gum and bananas. Flavor is sweet, centrally the yeasty flavors of bubble gum, banana, apple, with hops adding some citrus and bitterness. A bit of caramel flavor and alcohol in there. Carbonation is a bit on the flat side.

Bottle, Market Street in McKinney, TX. Pours a nice looking amber with beige head. Aroma is pretty complex, all I can say it is spicey and malty, with alcohol aroma. Flavor is very much the same pluse sweet. Mouth feel is full body, heavy, somewhat creamy smooth with med. carbonation....Over all I really like this one.....

kinda hard to open cuz of the foil, especially if you’re already drunk.. tastes like a good syrup, good getting fucked up to price ratio..don’t chug it or you’ll puke
