3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz Bottle. The pour was a clear medium reddish brown with a small (less than 1 finger) khaki colored head, which reduced to a large puddle and collar and possessed awesome sheets of lacing that totally engulfed the entire glass.
The aroma was of toasted Belgian malts, light floral hops and a musty Belgian yeast with notes of candi sugar, molasses, coriander and dark fruit (black cherry, currant and raisons).
The taste was moderately sweet and extremely malty with hints of molasses and candi sugar early on, progressing with a mild yeast presence, a somewhat bold fruitiness and a light spicy ending. The flavor stayed with you for a decently long while following the swallow, with a fruity spiciness left to linger on for a while longer.
Mouthfeel was somewhere in between light and medium in body with a thin creamy texture and a nice lively carbonation.
Overall this was a really good tasting beer, which had a good bold fruitiness along with a nice malty sweetness and a touch of spice, making it very enjoyable and easy to drink. Definitely a fine well rounded brew... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews

Pours a very pretty auburn red with small but dense tan head that reduces quickly.
Nose is muted; needs work to get more than malt and candy sugar. Palate is more interesting, with bananas, cloves, brown sugar joining the malts, along with undercurrent of spicy heat. The 10 percent ABV quickly makes itself felt.
A rich beer, not quite as well put together as first-rank Belgians, but good enough for second rank.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep ruby red with small head. Aromas of candi sugar, bananas, cherry, malt. The taste is sweet - candi sugar, bubblegum, cherry, sourdough, belgian yeast, spices. Medium to full bodied. A bit overly sweet but pretty good as a desert beer.

Well developed quad, smooth, hides abv, caramel, malt, barley, dry finish, do get a touch of "cherry." Iím not a huge fan of Belgian beers but this is a well rounded, balanced, quad

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber, 2014 vintage. Belgian yeast aroma with notes of banana, clove, and some caramel and cherry. Pours cloudy golden colored with a thin off white head and good lacing. Starts with sweet caramel, Belgian candi sugar, and banana flavors. Finishes smooth with spicy clove and just a little bit of cherry. Nice quad.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From a 22 oz bottle...at least a year old. Pours copper amber with small head and lace. Aroma of roasty malts and some booze. Medium carbonation and significant mouthfeel. Flavors of rich malts, powdered sugar, alcohol, caramel, dark cherries, molassas, brown sugar. Overall, big, bold, a tiny bit hot but overall very drinkable and potent.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Tap House Grill, arrived in a shaker pint (sigh).
A: A deep reddish brown, slightly cloudy. Arrived in the glass with a thin head, which dissipated rather quickly. Not much lacing to speak of.
S: I was, alas, at a bar with a kitchen, which generally precludes my olfactory senses from making much sense. What I was able to detect was some sweetness, yeast, and cherry fruit.
T: Yep, thatís definitely more than a hint of cherry fruitiness, and not much of any other type of fruit. The underlying malt is caramel, with candi sweetness. I did not detect much spiciness, nor much layered complexity.
M: Rather thin for a quad.
O: I had fond memories of this beer from occasions several years ago. It would appear that since that time, I have encountered Abt 12, Rochefort 10, and Trois Pistoles enough that this beer has lost some of that initial "what sorcery is this quadrupel you speak of?" luster. Itís not bad, but itís not anything I would seek out.

Care package from Graham for Spit Cup weekend. Shared with all. Pour is orange brown. Sweet malts, banana and some clove lead the nose. The taste is strongly sweet malty with banana. Some alcohol. Not so "quad"y as belgian strong-y. Not as complex as a quad. 13.7
