COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

Bottle, probably around 4 years old at this point. Pours deep deep reddish brown with a thin head. Sweet dark fruits and banana in the aroma, with a hint of spices and a light sherry-like oxidation. The flavor also shows a little bit of oxidation, but overall, this has held up well for a 4 year-old beer, and I don’t mind a little oxidation in older beers like this. Some dark fruity sweetness, toasted bread, light chocolate notes, and a hint of booze. Nice, I bet this was really good at about 1 year.

22oz bomber with a Rocky Mountain Goat on it. Color was dark brown with a tan head when poured into my weizen glass. The smell was a little banana and cloves. The taste was also slightly banana with some bread and caramel coming into play. Nice beer but I am unfamiliar with the style. Alcohol was very well hidden. Had on tap at Jackie O’s Anniversary Party. Was actually given this beer for free. That always makes it better, no? I love them sweet and malty so this one was a keeper. Sweety flavors of vanilla, brown sugar and toast. Slight hop finish. Loved it.

Clear deep red brown pour. covered initially by a small and frothy tanned head. Aroma is alcoholic with plum, prune and vanilla. Sweet. Medium to full bodied Alcoholic finish. (Bottle, courtesy of tarjei 12.12.2009)

Poured a very dark brown almost black with an oily appearance. Nose is sweet with a hint of the abv with some malts. Flavor follows the nose. Big and full with a nice bite to it. Sweet but not cloying with some licorice notes. A dessert weisen? Pretty tasty

Dark brown, low head. Plays well on malt, hop, some alcohol in the end. Simple, nice. Medium body, flat, alcohol. Purchased in ølkonsortiet.

Bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown with a beige/light brown head. Sweet, malty, dark fruit aroma. A bit cloying. Flavour is a delicate blend of sweet dark fruits, subdued hops and a remote roasted note. Liquorice finish with slight wine-like notes and a bit of alcohol thrown in. Lingering grassy/apple note. A nice beer, even if I found these types a bit on the heavy side. 18-10-09.

@Freaktoberfest 2006 bottle, pours deep stunning ruby with a cream color medium head, aroma of cereals, grain, honey, butter and some apple notes, flavor of wood, honey, grain with loads of scotch like alcohol and bitter finish.Full bodied. Wow
