COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

Dark pour that is not quite black, with a thick cream colored head. Berries and chocolate nose with a bit of dust. Tangy oatmeal, caramel, chocolate milk mix, nutmeg, a bit of banana flavor. Finish is dry with a noticeable alcohol bite., oh yeah, 9.5% that explains that I guess. Port like flavors. Not a bad beer. Ap-4 ar-7 tas-7 pal-3 ov-14

Bomber obtained from the Beer Swap 2.0. Clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Toasty nuts and wheat in the nose, a slightly burnt malt aroma. Malty caramel flavors and only a touch of banana to hint at the wheat. Seems closer to a doppelbock. Whatever. Nice.

1 pint bottle. Dark brown color, lovely beige head. Sweet malt, hints of coffee, dark chocolate, liqorice and roasted malt. Sweet, with bitter finish. Vinous. Very good.

Dark brown with a small head, almost no lacing. Aroma is banana, roats, yeast, chocolate, caramel, darker fruits. Flavor is the same but overall feels way off balance.. the flavors are all over the place and the mouthfeel was a mess. Light alcohol in the finish. Not my favorite from them.

Big f’in hiss as the cap comes off, pouring a dismal, translucent (goddamn filtered weizenbocks) mahogany color with a tan spiderweb head. Chocolate port and sherry team with cherry loumbourd, green cloves, and a blend of concord grapes and rock candy crusted on brown sugared bran. Mild vanilla aromatics are overcome by portly, spiced phenols that dovetail into peanut brittle. Sulfurous ash on tin complacently fades into a dirty twig flavor. Medium cocoa dust is licked off of wire-brush scrubbed cookie sheets. Plum butter gum and cherry spruce pipe tobacco surface intermittently. Spicy pepper and cloves countermand allspice while exuding its propensity to achieve a stretched chocolate malt malfunction. Though the box shows they’re two years expired, the damn cocoa brownies were baked anyways. Adhesive, double stick tape defines the tongue stop, with brown sugar baked prunes meandering at the outset, along with generic, cocoa-sweetened, stale bran and an over-abundance of cloves. Burnt chocolate wheat and too much bitterness down the stretch bring about a finish that couldn’t have come soon enough. Thirteen fucking years. Thanks for the bomber, tpkenned!

Bottle sampled with beerded_one. Pours deep brown with a large tan head. Aroma of bananas, citrus, caramel, sweet malts, and alcohol. Flavor is smooth, sweet, bananas, citrus, carbonated, caramel, beautiful weizen, awesome brew.

Dark brown with nice head and good ruby highlights. Smell is nice. Taste has wheat characteristics some toffee flavors. The maltiness sweetness from the bock also really shine through.

Pours out a dark brown almost black color with a nice tan head. Smells malty and fruity with some hints of coffee and chocolate. Taste is sweet, rich, filling, and it has a nice hoppy bitterness to it. At first I got a rather metallic taste from it that slowly faded away the warmer the beer got / the more I drank. It is very sweet, maybe too sweet, but it goes down in a hurry, and for 9.5% it certainly does not taste like it. This is not bad at all, certainly worth a shot, glad I have a few more bottles to drink over the coming summer months. Much better than Twelve was.
