COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

Bomber. Aged just over four years. Dark brown with small tan head. Aroma is toffee, molasses boozy, sweet dark chocolate, lots of roast, darker breads, earthy tones, raisin and other dried fruits. Taste is molasses cocoa booze with light roast in back. Roasted dried fruit finish goes dry and sticks long on tongue. Light nutty character. Sweetness is toned down. Great brew.

Bomber shared with 17thfloor. Pours a deep hazy brown with a small creamy light cream colored head. Aroma is very sharp roasted malts over a caramel and nutty note. Definitely a vinegar note and a sharp boozy overripe fruity character. Flavor starts with a caramel candy sweetness, toffee, nutty, dark roasted malts, more of the overripe fruit and a sharp winey note along with the acidity. Medium body and a sharper carbonation. Interesting aged beer, I wonder what it tasted like fresh, hmmmmmm

Very dark, reddish brown with a slight tan head. Strong wheaty, but band-aid-like aroma. Theres something unusual in the aroma, but the flavor/taste is decent. There’s cocoa and buttery malts. It is not very rich, yet the alcohol burn/astringency is very evident. Overall, it is interesitng, but I probably wouldn’t buy another bottle.

This is a very attractive appearing beer pouring dark mahogeny with some really nice ruby ride colors apparant when held to the light. The head is nice and thick and flufy, totally retained and dark beige in color. The aroma picks up where the appearance leaves off with a really nice opening roasted malt note, some nuttiness, wheat aroma, as well as some dark fruit notes and just a dash of spice. The flavor is nice as well, but I am going to take one point off for alcoholic heat. The flavor compliment the aromas, with some dark fruit flavors, a bit of wheatiness, some candy sugar like sweetness as well. This beer had some great potential buy needed just a bit more subtlety to be great.

Cloudy auburn with a red tint, this brew has a small but retentive tan head with decent lacing. Tiny bubbles. Malty aroma with a slap of quick alchohol at the end of a whiff. Flavor is sweet and malty throughout with a potent alchoholic kick at the end of the swallow. An unusual flavor akin to soy sauce plays a interesting, but not overwhelming role.

Deep ruby. Spicy wheat-prune-banana nose, a little hint of fresh cowshit, which is actually better than it sounds. Spicy clove and cinnamon flavor, thick and chewy. Some considerable alcohol, thick and malty, sweet alcoholic finish, warming. Solid, if unspectacular big beer from Avery.

Poured dark red with a slight tan head. Aroma is musty, sweet, and hot alcohol. As flavor warms, the maltiness really begins to take shape, when cold the alcohol is too prominent. The fruity esthers they speak of are nowhere near as center stage as a Schneider, taking place on the back end, obscured by the sweetness.
