COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

750ml bottle - thanks to blutt59. Dark brown color - aromas of toffee and brown sugar. Flavor is very smooth and tasty - hard to believe this is 4 years old! Caramel and roasted malt flavors with a bit of a wheat bite.

Thanks to egajdzis for this... Appears a dark brown with a red hue around the edges and a small tan head that slowly fades out. Small amounts of lace are left as streaks around the glass. Smell is of chocolate, bready dough, nuts, black grapes, plums, bananas, and a slight hint of cloves and black pepper. Mouthfeel is smooth, fruity, full of the wheat base, making for a medium body and drinkable Weizenbock...yes, should be just called a weizenbock b/c it’s not lagered and it has a wheat base that has been fermented with an ale strain. They did a nice job with it though, whatever they want to call it.

Bomber, pours a very dark ruby with off-white bubbles, lots of sweetness with dark malt aromas, aroma of a fruitcake made with raisins and prunes, fruit, roasted malt, dark bread, some chocolate fragrance, a touch of alcohol on the nose, syrupy sweet and a sticky feel in the mouth, taste of dark malt, some brown sugar, has some dark bread and wheat flavors but disappointing, the flavor does not follow the aromas, there is a dry finish but it starts out thick and creamy and kind of oily syrupy on the palate, can sense the alcohol in the sip, as this warms the alcohol monster takes over, unfortunately, the flavor did not live up to the aroma, this ‘13’ is very unlucky.

Poured from a 22oz bomber and served in a Bell’s dimpled mug. This beer poured a dark brown with a lasting head of tan foam. The aroma of the beer was made up of dark fruits, toffee, caramelized sugar, banana esthers, and also a bit of chocolate. The flavor started with dark fruits and bittersweet chocolate. Then some toffee and caramel finished off with a lasting alcoholic banana note. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and smooth with moderate carbonation. Quite tasty!

Dark brown pour with a long lasting, yet small tan head. Strong banana and clove aroma, with some yeast and an alcohol presence that just permeates through it all. Yeasty and spicy taste, lots of dried fruit, plum. Some dough/chocolate notes come through in the middle and the end is a pretty agressive blast of alcohol. I think it’s better than Aventinus actually. There is a lot to enjoy here. The big alcohol presence encourages slow sipping and it’s complexity increases delightfully as warmed.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a tan colored head. Aroma is sweet malt, dried cherries, wheat, sugar. Flavor is light alcohol, caramel, spice, dark fruits, some molasses, brown sugar. Palate is medium to full bodied, medium carbonation, finished sticky sweet. A decent brew for sure but nothing earth shattering.

Bottle. Dark and clear, with a nice one inch tan head that fully develops after pouring. Rich, deep malt aroma, with alcohol emerging from the blend of coffee and licorice. Heavy and sweet, with a light wheat flavor over the licorice and malt. A little heavy on the malt, for a weizen.
