COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

Pours a dark copper with a medium light brown head. Aroma is spicy with a hint of sourness. It’s complex with hints of banana and other typical wheat aromas. In the mouth it starts of slightly sweet, dominated by banana and the other wheat flavors. There’s a hint of sourness and then it finishes sweet. It’s thick and lightly carbonated.

Strong vinous aroma. Lots of sweetness. No wheat character, lots of sweet malt, some sourness in the finish. Oaky dryness, some vanilla and other spices.

22 oz bottle pours a deep brown with a thin off white head. Smells of sweet malt dominate the aroma. Taste is of ripe fruits, toasty malt, and sme spicy notes. The alcohol seems to be fairly well hidden.

hazy deep brown with tan head. nose of clove with some oxidation. some bitterness before yeast-derived clove esters with some muting from the age. munich malt is present but not overwhelming. alcohol provides nice depth. overall a beer whose flavor may be somewhat muted due to the age, but the tempering of the alcohol results in a remarkably drinkable brew and a great version of the style

Aged one year. Dark brown/amber color with big frothy tan head and beautiful lacing. I smelled bananas immediately after opening, which faded to a weak malty and spicy aroma. Dominant malt flavor, with nice sweetness and light fruits. Complex, full-bodied and delicious

Bottle, shared by jarspag with Maheu and myself during the January ski trip to Mammoth. This one has a ruby maroon color with a medium tan head. Interesting aroma that is dry, fruity and roasty with a bit of a metallic astringency. Flavor is mostly plum, raisin, and toffee, finishing with caramel malt sweetness and a light roast. Pretty good with a few years on it, wish I could have tried it fresh.

Bomber. Aged just over four years. Dark brown with small tan head. Aroma is toffee, molasses boozy, sweet dark chocolate, lots of roast, darker breads, earthy tones, raisin and other dried fruits. Taste is molasses cocoa booze with light roast in back. Roasted dried fruit finish goes dry and sticks long on tongue. Light nutty character. Sweetness is toned down. Great brew.

(22oz bomber thanks to blutt59) clear rich brown with a few tan bubbles. Nose of raisin, vanilla, rum, and a bit oxidized/papery. Taste of chocolate, fudge, a bit of oxidation but appropriate here. Well carbonated with a medium thick body.
