COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma is sweet and very malty with quite strong notes of roasted malt, as well as alcohol. Yeast scent as well. Poured dark brown. Opaque. Medium tan head lasted and produced a great lacing. Flavor is very complex. Head is creamy and mixes with the malty body to produce a sweet mixture. Heavily sweet, and mildly bitter. Flavors of wheat bread, roast, and alcohol. Medium to full body. Thick, viscous texture. Lively carbonation. Long, sweet finish. Overall, a good, strong brew.

Bomber poured a clear dark brown with a lasting amber head leaving behind nice lacing as I drink it. Aromas of banana, a hint of bubblegum, wheat and light spice notes. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of chocolate, toffee, carmel, a bit of fruitiness and light spice with a smooth lingering semisweet finish.

Bottle: Clear dark brown pour with a tan head. Aroma of wheat bread, some chocolaty malts, and I picked up a little mint. Flavor was chocolate, a breadiness to it, some roasty notes as well, a little warming on the end. Pretty solid stuff.

I’m missing the floral aromas. I get more roasted malt and wheat smells. Pours a deep brown color with a never ending tan head. Tastes dry and slightly alcoholic. Grainy tastes as well with a slightly fruity finish. Fruits remind me of plums and cherries. Some chocolate and toffee tastes as well.
