COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

Thirteen over twelve and delve deeper into goatdom whilst knowing eleven may dwell in the Maharaja to this day. Would I put this side by side with Aventinus? Well I didn’t so I’m not going to try now. Maybe later, but as for now my thoughts are in a pleasant place and I enjoyed this, so that’s good and so is Avery.

750ml bottle poured into a tulip. AT pours dark brown with reddish tones. The head is medium with large rubble. The aroma is sweet, like molasses with a yeasty undercurrent. The body is very thick and oily and has a contrasting hop bite. The overall quality of the beer is fine. It’s really not very wheat-like though. It’s pretty sweet and reminds more more of a barley wine or double than it does a weizen bock.

Bottle... Barely hazy, very dark, ruby lager with a small, creamy, everlasting khaki head. Smells and tastes like a green banana dipped in chocolate. Sweet malt and dry, tangy wheat. Medium-bodied and oily with fizzy carbonation. Finishes tart and chocolatey like chocolate covered cherries.

this was a really cool beer. a very dark malty weiss beer. Had a solid rich flavor. A little too much alcohol in the taste.

Bottle. Deep mahogany. Small rapidly vanishing tan head. Nose is dark malts, light chocolate and pumpernickel bread. Soft banana and a touch of alcohol. Taste is bready and malty with sweet notes, chocolate, soft banana, light bubblegum notes and alcohol. Body is light-medium, mild carbonation and lots of alcohol warmth. Finishes with lots of chocolate, burnt dark malts, light dark fruit flavors, alcohol and candy notes. Not bad but a little hot right now.
