COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlucky 13? If anything, 13 has been a lucky number and year for us! Here is our version of a Weizen Doppelbock, a very rarely brewed style marrying the complexities of two great German traditions, Weiss and Doppelbock. The aroma is dominated by fruity and spicy esters produced by the German Weiss yeast strain with a dry drinkability from the wheat malt. The flavor and color are dominated by the unique specialty grains that produce the Doppelbocks flavors of fresh baked bread, toffee and cocoa, and a dark-ruby red hue. Since goats have traditionally adorned Bock labels, we chose a Rocky Mountain Goat for this Rocky Mountain Bock. Peace to all and follow your dreams! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, malted wheat, imported German specialty grains and hops, and one unique German yeast.

Long lasting head. Rings of foam lacing left around the glass. Very dark brown lets very little direct light through. Strong malt aroma with some yeast. As it warms some intriguing brown sugar scents come through. Thick malty body. Sweet malty flavour. Some yeast and alcohol notes. Thick combination of flavours: chocolate, licorice, toffee and brown sugar.

Good sized dense head of fine off-white bubbles. Reduces slowly. Minimal carbonation. Roasty aroma with a bit of chocolate and dark fruit. Color is a very dark ruby brown. Fruity and malty. Some prunes and dates along with a big helping of roasted malts and a touch of coffee at the finish. Some spices present. Noticable alcohol warming. Pretty sweet and a little unsettling. A little bitterness at the finish and a lingering smoky aftertaste. Decent but is not sitting well in the stomach.

Dark, reddish brown appearance with a small tan head and modest lacing. Malty, fruity aroma with layers of cherry, banana and blackberries. Sweet malt taste with hints of caramel, dark fruit, molassas and multigrain bread. Hops are indistinguishable. Long lasting, sweet finish.

Pour is deep brown almost black with ruby highlights and a thin dense tan head...smell is sweet, earth fruit, banana, licorice, wheat...taste is sweet indeed...prunes, plums, molasses, then dry yeasty flavors and sub tle spices....also banana still everywhere...something strange and dry in the flavor too...

Dark cola color, fizzy light tan head Aroma is odd, but has brown sugared cherry pie. Slightly smokey malt in a light wheaty fruit body, cherries, brown sugar. Okay beer; a little forced.

(22oz. bottle) Pours a dark brown body with a small tan head. Aroma of toasted bread, pine, molasses, and orange peel. Flavor of orange zest, toffee, licorice, dark rye bread, and cocoa.

Poured dark red with a slight tan head. Aroma is musty, sweet, and hot alcohol. As flavor warms, the maltiness really begins to take shape, when cold the alcohol is too prominent. The fruity esthers they speak of are nowhere near as center stage as a Schneider, taking place on the back end, obscured by the sweetness.

(Bottled, 0.66l) Very dark reddish brown with a small, tanned head. Sweetish, banana-estery aroma with mild roastiness and some fusely alcohol. Fruity and peppery-spicy flavor with moderately roasted malt, and a quite strong, burning alcohol presence. Medium, slightly thin body can’t quite hide the alcohol. Lowish carbonation. Quite Imperial Stout -like (hoppy and roasty) for a Weizen Bock. Not bad, but deserves a big minus for the alcoholic feel. Gets more tolerable with yeast, though.
