Re-named BA Meph Addict.
Our very own Parker, of the cartoon and cat loving variety, created this cult classic character back in our 17th season. Appearing in several episodes under another stage name that was deemed inappropriate, our executive producers and editors decided that a name change and further character development—a 4-month Hiatus in bourbon barrels—were necessary to satisfy our most ardent and demanding viewers.

Bottle @ ZEBF 2015. Strong stuff this one. Full thick taste of coffee, vanilla and some cacao. Very boozy, but quite nice.

Draft/bottle. I know I’ve had this a couple times, just thought was same as normal. Black pour with tan head. Sweet chocolate, marshmallow, roasted and coffee aromas. Flavors are dark malt, chocolate, vanilla and a ton of coffee. Boozy.

Reviewing a 6 month old bottle Pours a pitch black body, head is chocolate colored and 1/4 inch thick. Head lasted for awhile but sadly faded after awhile, lacing was above average. Smell is big on roasted and burnt malts. freshly brewed espresso also comes through. Chocolate, sweet vanilla, and bourbon are in the mix too. No hops present, the aromas or strongly whisky and coffee. Taste is similar to smell, lots of bourbon and bitter coffee. Sweet fudge counteracts the booze, but theres a slight alcohol burn in aftertaste. Mouthfeel is thick, syrupy, and well carbonated. Head contributed a nice foam momentarily but unfortunately it didn’t stay. Whiskey coats the mouth, actually stings a bit but kinda like it. Overall this beer is definitely one of a kind. Pushes the boundaries of a beer regarding abv and mouthfeel. Best way I can describe it is the coffee stout version of Utopias. Really enjoyed the beer but alcohol needs to be pulled back a tiny bit to push it to legendary status.

Pours a two finger dark tan head that fades quickly leaving no lace. Black color, no highlights. light carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Bourbon nose and flavor follows with bourbon, coffee and sweet malt. Decent imp stout. Very high ABV is mostly hidden. Serious price at $15.95 for a 12oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, MA.

I’d love to do a head to head with this and Lost Abbey Track 10. LA probably has a touch less heat, but for 17.81% this was NOT hot. Very very roasty with a ton of coffee and a decent amount of barrel present. Loved it.

12oz bottle shared. Dark black pour with tanish brown head. Super strong bourbon and coffee aroma. Taste follows with some bitterness. Pretty boozy not too much to make it bad. Pretty tasty stuff!

Bottled 10.28.14. Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a chalice on 03.08.15. A: Cocoa, fudge, vanilla, and sweet coffee. The coffee didn’t seem overwhelming. A: Thin dark tan head that quickly recedes to a ring. T: Dark coffee dominates. Vanilla, cocoa, dark fruit, and oak barrel woodiness are subtle. P: Medium chewiness with some bubbles. It’s on the syrupy side and has an astringent finish. O: The coffee was too strong for me. It overpowered the barrel flavors. The alcohol was amazingly hidden as in most of Avery’s offerings. Unfortunately, I’m not a big fan of coffee so I drain poured it.
