Re-named BA Meph Addict.
Our very own Parker, of the cartoon and cat loving variety, created this cult classic character back in our 17th season. Appearing in several episodes under another stage name that was deemed inappropriate, our executive producers and editors decided that a name change and further character development—a 4-month Hiatus in bourbon barrels—were necessary to satisfy our most ardent and demanding viewers.

Bottle from 2014. Drank from a sample glass, shared amongst friends. This beer was super boozy, probably needs a couple more years to age correctly.

Pours jet black with a quickly fading and very minimal head. The aroma is really big and rich. Coffee, chocolate, dark liquor, candied fruit, vanilla, creamy caramel, the kind of sweet/rich complexity I expected from the brewery behind Mephistopheles. Although the ABV is slightly higher than Mephistopheles, Alcohol is not an overpowering presence on the tongue. Coffee and that chocolate/caramel nut-cream sweet richness are the gigantic qualities. Wow. I hope I can find a couple more bottles.

Pours black with light light-brown head. A strong bourbon and sweet caramel malt aroma. An incredibly strong alcohol flavor of bourbon with dark fruits, caramel, and sweet malts. Sweet backbone and not overwhelming of dark liquor.

This beer suffers from the high ABV. I find the alcohol to be too overpowering to fully enjoy it. The tastes are really complex but never comes to their own just because of it. There is a lot going on from the barrel, brings a burbon-like suryp taste, with a thick swetness in the undertows. Overall good, but I think it would benefit from being a few % lower on the ABV scale.

Pours into the glass a burnt mahogany, deep and dark, with a light tan head that reduces to trace lacing. The nose is of alcohol, vanilla, light coffee and woody bourbon notes. Flavors are sweet, of vanilla, toffee, caramel, bourbon, alcohol, marshmallow, woody oak tones, and the finish is a long woody-vanilla alcohol burn. Full-bodied and sticky to the palate, the mouthfeel is perfect for this late-night sipper. A superb sweet Impy Stout here! Kudos to Avery!!

Pours almost jet black with a tan clingy head. Aroma is whiskey, chocolate, faint coffee, slightly smoky. Taste is big bourbon, woody vanilla notes, dark chocolate, caramel, espresso. Smooth, velvety mouthfeel, with only the faintest of burns at the end of the swallow. Incredibly drinkable for 17% ABV. Very good.

Bottle. Pours almost black with a minimal head. Boozy sweet dark chocolate aroma. Taste is initially syrupy sweet, has dark chocolate, coffee grounds, liquorice loads of peppery/spicy barrel and bourbon. Some alcohol. Full body, soft carbonation, thick smooth mouth feel.
As always with Avery and their bestial BA Imperial Stouts - Massive, slightly boozy and really good!

Pours a deep brownish black from the bottle with thin ring of bubbly tan head. Aroma of big chocolate and roast notes over a hint of soy and vanilla. Taste is more toward the barrel, big vanilla and chocolate notes. No coffee anywhere here for me, but a big boozy mouth that warms on the way down. Really solid, but really big.
