COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Re-named BA Meph Addict.
Our very own Parker, of the cartoon and cat loving variety, created this cult classic character back in our 17th season. Appearing in several episodes under another stage name that was deemed inappropriate, our executive producers and editors decided that a name change and further character development—a 4-month Hiatus in bourbon barrels—were necessary to satisfy our most ardent and demanding viewers.

Heavy roasted coffee aromas, booze, bourbon, milk chocolate, toasted almonds. Black with a lasting small tan head. Initial chocolatey malt sweetness, hot with whiskey, like a boiler-maker. Full bodied, booze runs hot throughout and long after the finish.

Sample from bottle @ EBF.

Appearance: Pitch black with a small bubbly brown head and little lacing.

Aroma: Boozy, but less than you expect from a nearly 20% abv beer and 1000x less boozy than Black Tuesday for example. A burst of coffee at first followed by rich caramelized malts along strong bourbon and vanilla notes. There’s also some spicy oak features.

Taste: Rich caramelized malts along massive coffee presence. It’s sweet but it’s also well balanced by the warming alcohol. Bourbon, vanilla, oak and dark fruits. Some coffee bitterness.

Palate: Full bodied. Moderate carbonation. Thick and oily mouthfeel. Coffee finish. Lenghty pleasant alcohol warmth (it’s not burning).

Overall: I’m impressed by this one as I usually dislike very high abv stouts. Really well balanced for what it is. Rich, deep and tasty. Of course, I would never drink a full bottle of this (even though they are in 12 oz, which is a so much better idea than friggin 750 ml of near 20% abv beers), but it’s a great sipper. Much enjoyed!

Bottle from Beaumont Market, Portland. Pours a very dark brown, medium brown head. Aroma is very roasty, coconut, vanilla, some dulce de leche. Body very roasty, finish is very hot, but roasty coffee notes smooth it out. Yikes! Would buy it again and sit on it for a couple years.

3015 bottle. Pours a completely opaque black with a yellow khaki head that sustains surprisingly well and settles to a thin film and ring and leaves good lacing. Aroma of chocolate, bourbon and a hint of umami. Big chocolate and bourbon in the taste with plenty of alcohol. It has a smooth roastiness and just a bit of coffee bean flavor and woodiness. Finishes with a moderate roasty bitterness and alcohol flavor and warmth. Medium/full bodied with moderate carbonation. Too much alcohol and not near enough coffee. The bourbon really dominates this beer. Would have liked more contrast. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draft. Pitch black, with a small tan head. Boozy, strong coffee, chocolate, bourbon, raisin, prunes, vanilla, strong alcohol bite, and very sweet sugary molases. Obviously this is a sipping beer, enjoyed on rare occasion.
