COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Re-named BA Meph Addict.
Our very own Parker, of the cartoon and cat loving variety, created this cult classic character back in our 17th season. Appearing in several episodes under another stage name that was deemed inappropriate, our executive producers and editors decided that a name change and further character development—a 4-month Hiatus in bourbon barrels—were necessary to satisfy our most ardent and demanding viewers.

Huge beer with a oily black pour. Boozy, huge coffee aroma. Taste is insanely sweet and boozy but still retains good rich flavor.

This beer pours a dark brown color with a medium creamy tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, coffee and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, roasted coffee, vanilla and malt. The finish is boozy with an oaky vanilla coffee aftertaste. Good beer all around.

12oz bottle shared by Andrew. Bottled on October 28 2014, I can’t believe its been over a year. I would likely never try this unless someone shared this at a tasting. 9 of us and the 12oz bottle did not get finished. Its only lightly coffee and the bourbon is present. The unferemented sweetness covers up a lot of the alcohol and some of the soy sauce (autolysis). Its all manageable but at about 2oz at a time. Just a few sips are great but after that you get tired real quick. Bottom line: not bad for an uber high gravity beer but 12oz is wayyyyyy tooooo much.

Bottled Oct 28, 2014. Pours inky dark, black in the glass, with a thin tan head, medium retention. Aromas of bourbon, dark chocolate, coffee, toast. cherry, grass. Full, rich body, slick, light carbonation, medium dry. Medium sweet, a tiny hint of citrus, with a boozy warming medium bitter chocolate finish. Enjoyably over-the-top.

Bottled 28 Oct 2014 @ 17.81%. Pours oily black with one finger beige head. Aroma of coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is smooth combination of coffee and dark chocolate, slightly bitter and sweet at same time, with chocolate a bit more noticeable. Little alcohol burn now compared to when fresh. Bit of bourbon present but not dominating like eight months ago. Very nice! Rated 95 in March 2015 but 100 now.

Yep, making sure this is the right one...batch 1, 17.81%, stout with coffee aged in Bourbon Barrels. Bottled Oct 28, 2014 in a 12 oz bottle. Poured in a Mad Elf tulip glass. Pours black with significant brown head...head makes cool paisley swirlies. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, dark roasted malts. Significant carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of dark roasted malts, bourbon, brown sugar, milk chocolate, wood, coffee, minerals, earth. Overall very rich, bold, complex, big and a touch rough but overall balanced and enticing. Alcohol...yes, it’s there, but the coffee aroma and rich taste of chocolate and pure yumminess stand out wonderfully for a late nighter and/or potential desert (or dessert) drink.

Draft at Pour it Black. Pours near black with a big light brown head. Aroma is more barrel than Meph, , and less coffee! Also dark chocolate, pepper, oak. Flavor is dark chocolate, coffee. A touch of licorice, oak and rum in the finish.

Very dark oily brown, odd tanny lacing and a lean ringed tan head. Nose is boozy, coconut and full on bourbon liquory. Initial taste is gritty tobacco, firm sweetness. Carbonation is soft and then a real boozy burn on the mouthfeel. Finish is neat, clean terse boozy and lingers rich and tinny bitterness some were in there.

Bottle, 1st Annual Edinburgh Christmas Tasting
