Bottled 28 Oct 2014 @ 17.81%. Pours oily black with one finger beige head. Aroma of coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is smooth combination of coffee and dark chocolate, slightly bitter and sweet at same time, with chocolate a bit more noticeable. Little alcohol burn now compared to when fresh. Bit of bourbon present but not dominating like eight months ago. Very nice! Rated 95 in March 2015 but 100 now.

Pours a slick black with a creamy frothy tan head. Super roasty, tons of straight-up cold-press coffee! Tastes like Starbucks, ha, really it does, a bit too much booze in the aftertaste though. Body is slick creamy and fluffy.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry coffee notes with some light alcohol, some roasted malt and some residual sugar notes. Taste is an extreme mix of huge floral coffee notes with some dry bitter roasted malt, some alcohol and some residual sugar notes. Body is full with good carbonation and some alcohol was apparent. Not sure I need to drink this on a regular basis but still quite drinkable considering the ingredients used in this beer.

Bottled. Poured inky black with very little head. The aroma picked up sour-ish bourbon over sweet coffee and vanilla notes. The flavor found meaty black and vanilla notes at the core with tart bourbon barrel and peppery spice around.. finished spicy and hot, with lots of coffee and residual sugars. Heavier-bodied and grainy.. a bit too hot, but tasty.

Bottle @ Zeebra 2015, small sample. Dark color, short head. Aroma of dark roasted malts, coffee, some chocolate. Bit heavy on the coffee and the alcohol. Ok stuff.

Draft. Pitch black, inky. The deep cinnamon-hued head doesn’t last long. Brilliant coffee aroma. Oily, funky beans; toasted sourdough; soil and chocolate in minuscule amounts. The flavor: so very much coffee. It even overpowers the underlying Mephistopheles -- a feat I didn’t think was possible. Rich, roasty, oily. Toasted bread again, some cocoa, a finish of ethanol and spicy Arabica. Full, creamy body. Thick and smooth, like drinking thick hot chocolate. If you want to enjoy this one, you better damn well like coffee. Huge bean flavor, not a ton of stout. A little hot. Good for a few ounces, too rich for much more.
