COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unfiltered and Double Dry Hopped Hog Heaven served on tap at the brewery. Please note: Uberschwein is listed separately from Hog Heaven because it’s unfiltered, not because it’s dry-hopped.

End of the night rating looks like a prescription. Dirty dark amber. Big head. Big dirty b_____ amber hop f_______ . The next two beers have no numbers and no words so no rating.

Special tapping at Avery’s. The color is a murky orange with a light tan head. The aroma is mostly hoppy with some pine. The flavor is woody and hoppy, finishes with the hop. Medium bodied, overall pretty good barleywine.

Tap at Avery. Pours a hazy orange copper with fine khaki head, very good retention, some thick lace. Aroma is very strong hoppy, resinous, piney, skunky even. Flavor is strong piney, resinous hops, very oily, with a strong hoppy, bitter finish. Hop flavor is intense indeed. Soft carbonation, medium-full body, and smooth texture. An intensely hopped barleywine.

I think Hog Heaven is better but not to say this wasn’t good. The hops seemed about the same as floral. The beer was a dark copper and much more opaque. The weight heavier, which I assume is due to being unfiltered. Carbonation was below average. The hops bitterness seemed the same but the malty sweetness and caramel flavors seemed higher. Good beer and worth a try if being served while you’re at their taproom.

On tap at brewery. Aroma is huge woody hops. Pours a deep amber red. Taste is near perfect. Huge woody hops balanced by a solid malt backbone. One of the best beers I’ve ever had.

Tap at Avery during GABF week. Cloudy brown. Aroma starts sweet, tupelo honey, brown sugar, agave syrup and some citrusy hops. Favor is sweet, toffee, burned sugar and a hoppy, drying finish.

On tap at the brewery, shared by Thirdeye! Pours a cloudy mahogany color. A big sweet nose of fruit and dry malts. The flavor is a very sweet malt base, pretty big, dry, earthy, light fresh hops. Oily at times. Good.

Draft. The aroma is fantastic. Fresh hops with a great barley wine aroma. The appearance is very cloudy. Bronze with a lasting tan head. Great barley wine flavor. Not as hoppy as the aroma was showing. Palate is ok. Overall, good beer. Would love to age one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nose is amazing floral hops and huge caramel and butterscotch. Thick persistent head on dark amber. Full bodied. Unfortunately, doesn’t deliver on the taste. Mostly just hop bitterness. Probably improves dramatically with age, but since this is a tap only offering, may never know.

(Draught) Pours a cloudy orange body with a medium beige head. Aroma of pineapple, grain, citrus, and grass. Flavor of grain, orange, florals, caramel, and pine with a dry, bitter finish.
