Bottle. Pours a syrupy black brown color with a brown colored head. Mouthfeel is like butter. Notes of faint vanilla and smoke with chocolate truffle at the forefront. Really really good and not overly bourboned.

Pours black with small head. Aroma: complex aroma of the usual stuff like coffee, dark fruit and chocolate as well as roasted malt, but put on the extreme. Taste is similarly extreme, but with ABV well hidden and a nice palate. Very good.

Pours coal black with a light brown head. Flavor is sweet molasses with the whiskey barrel aging coming thru strong. You would never know it has a 17.1 abv. Nicely balanced with no burn. Nicely done!

4oz pour for $6, I feel like thatís a bargain :shrug: Well, I like to give these uber Avery beers a try. As per usual they do a better job than others... like the Bruery, who suck. Draft has decent head. This feels less sweet than Meph but I havenít had that in a decade, so who the fuck knows. Definite burn on this, duh. I miss the bourbon and coffee of Tweak. Only light autolysis, bitter malts but not too bad. Surprisingly little sweetness. Itís alcoholic but I actually miss some of the other over-the-top characteristics that go with this uber strong impy stout, I mean, go big or go home. I guess this is the balanced version of a 17% imperial stout. Obviously, 4oz is plenty enough.

Big rich stout, with full corn flavour. They call it bourbon. Black, thick. Tasty, to an extent. Worth a try.

Deep black pour with a mocha brown head. Aroma is dark fruit, chocolate and a little bourbon. Taste is dark fruit, thick, chocolate, chalky. Very smooth for 16.9%. All the flavors mask the alcohol taste but I can smell the presence of the alcohol. Picking up a little vanilla and oak as it warms. A little burnt roastiness to it. A complex tasty beer. A costly beer but worth it The beer coats the glass.

Draft at the Stone Pour it Black Event. One of my favorites of the day. But all of them were so good. Lots of barrel and lots of yumminess.

12 oz bottle, bottled on 2/4/2014. Pours dark brown black with a smallish creamy brown head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is sweet fudgy chocolate malts, grains, dark fruit, bourbon and a little black licorice. A lot going on!
The flavor is sweet sugary chocolate malts, roasted grain, dark fruits and some hot bourbon alcohol with a little black licorice and a bitter roast alcohol finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall, nice stout with a lot going on. A bit sweet and hot on the alcohol for me, but not as hot as remembered (maybe the 2 years aging helped). Becomes a bit harsh and cloying as it warms.
