A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or "white" ale, this Rascal is unfiltered (yup, that’s yeast on the bottom) and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel producing a refreshingly fruity thirst quencher.

Look; white normal head with big bubble holes, hazy pale yellow golden body. Aroma; clean coriander, old meat, wheat malts, dough, flowers, meadow. Taste; wheat malts, white fruity bread, coriander, lemon, pear, berries - leading to a fruity finish in the wheat. On palate alright, soft nice. Overall; quite tasty. 33 cl bottle from Systembolaget. Unclear, golden colour with a thin, white head. Sweet aroma with orange peel, citrus fruits, wheat malts and spicy notes - coriander. Taste is lightly bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes slightly dry with oranges and spicy hints. Good on a hot night, and with lighter fares.

Can, canned 05/12/14. Pours a light orange with a small, white head. Aroma is coriander, wheat, some lemon. Taste is strongly wheaty, somewhat yeasty. Alright, uneventful.

Pours a very cloudy yellow with a white head that leaves much spot lacing. The nose is faint yeast and spice. Body is medium light. Taste is wheat malt with very light bitterness. It is a light version. 12 oz can More cans, craft brewers!

I don’t trust restaurants who can’t wait to tell me what beer I should have instead of Blue Moon or Sam Summer, Oberon and Stella are not the same. Having said that, the Ravenous Pig in Orlando has a great bar staff and they pick beers no one is thinking of. Their beer guy introduced me to Algash and Avery White Rascal. White Rascal is the second best wheat beer ever. Great in a can, better in a bottle, incredible in a keg. The beer tastes like wheat and pepper. That is it, like steak frites or bacon and eggs. The best things in life can be defined by its simplicity.

Cloudy and opaque yellow body with a white head that laces the glass well. Strong aroma of wheat, a confusing yeasty element that is as wit-ish as it is hefe-ish, citrus, banana and spices, and in the back I get honey and sweet corn flakes. The strong flavour gives the same wit/hefe confusion, I get lots of spices, especially coriander, but at the same time lots of banana in a hefeweizen way. Also pretty citric. The taste is sweeter than most witbiers, the finish is light bitter. Dry and light on the palate, rather lively carbonation. A nice one!
