2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 mzaar (352) - Varberg, SWEDEN - FEB 4, 2012
Väldigt litet huvud ovanpå den ljusgula ölen. Doftar av banan och koriander. Smaken är tunn, det fattas tyngd, det fattas mer smak. Apelsin och vit glögg är de dominerande smakerna.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy pale yellow. Small white head. Healthy aroma of coriander and various sweet fruits. Light fruity flavor. Very drinkable. No wow factor, but a solid wheat beer.

This isn’t quite spot on for the witbier style but it’s a tasty brew regardless. It’s cloudy pale orange w/ a very small head, esp. for a wheat beer. The nose is big on bananas w/o much else coming though. On first sniff, I’d say this was a hefeweizen. The flavor here is really interesting if not straight-out good. There is a bit of toffee and caramel underneath the light but creamy witbier texture. It works overall but strikes me as just a tad strange.

Can. Pale lemon yellow colored with a half-inch of bubbly white foam. Standard Witbier aroma of clove, coriander, wheat, and citrus rind. The flavor is about the same with a fair amount of Belgian yeast, toasted malt and orange peel upfront followed by more spices and banana toward the end. The body is heavily carbonated with a mildly tart, chalky finish. I could see cracking open a can of this every now and then in the summer.

A: Cloudy yellow. No fluff in the head. Thing white foamy skim. Moderate lacing.
S: Wheat. Lemon. Coriander. soft...
T: Wheat and lemon with hints of banana and yeast which I didn’t get in the nose. Rather bland and uninspired.
M: A bit heavy for the style but has a crisp finish. Not as refreshing because of the heavier body.
O: A pedestrian effort which I am unlikely to retread.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 johno (157) - Galveston, Texas, USA - JAN 20, 2012
Pale cloudy gold. Aroma is quite overt and pleasing, tons of coriander, citrus, banana, spice. Pleasant mouthfeel, medium-bodied, a little frizzante action, faintly sour, flavors a bit subdued but a very nice quaff.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 dumontn (423) - CHICAGO, Illinois, USA - JAN 18, 2012
Slightly hazy pale yellow, visible effervesccence, thin-bubbled head, decent retention. Aroma is orange peel, yeast, wheat, coriander. Taste is oranges, Belgian yeast spice, wheat/spice aftertaste. Body is light, mildly frothy, low carbonation for a wit, a bit watery. Overall, very tasty and refreshing but definetly noted some metallic and yeasty off-flavors.... not sure if it’s from the can or if they over-pitched yeast to this batch.

This is the best American version of the White Belgian Ale. It has enough flavor to stand alone, but goes well with a simple meal.
