A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or "white" ale, this Rascal is unfiltered (yup, that’s yeast on the bottom) and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel producing a refreshingly fruity thirst quencher.

Transfer from BA review on 2-6-13- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – Served a hazy yellow colored brew with a one finger thick white head. The head has decent retention fading to leave a nice level of lacing. Smell – The smell is heaviest of wheat and orange and lemon citrus. Mixed with these aromas are some notes of yeast, coriander, and banana. Rather classic witbier smell. Taste – The taste begins with lots of wheat and some orange citrus. The citrus grows stronger more toward the middle only to fade some in the end. While the citrus grows to its max, it is met with a yeasty and spice flavors of coriander and clove. These spices and yeasty flavors grow stronger at the expense of the citrus and with a light grassy and funky flavor, which comes to the tongue at the very end of the taste, together leave a wheaty, yeasty and lightly spice and funky taste to linger in the mouth. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather light in terms of creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather high. Again classic witbier style in feel and good for the flavor profile. Overall - A fairly easy drinking and tasty brew, but in many ways just on in the crowd witbiers. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either.

Can : Pour is straw yellow, with a frothy white head initial - it dissipates quickly, with a thin lacing layer here. The nose is white bread, peppery spice moving to coriander, with a spritz of orange here. It’s what you would expect, I guess. The flavor profile is light bittering grass, moving to coriander spicing and very mild belgian notes. Its creamy, moving to the orange peel here. This is yet another palatable american take on the style. As, again, expected.

Pale, cloudy, bubbly yellow with tall fizzy white head. Aroma is sweet, banana and citrus. Flavor is similar, very light, a little tangy. Fizzy carbonation. Just okay.

Very pleasant, floral aroma. Hazy straw color with an even white rapidly diminishing head that leaves some lacing. Great taste that’s very low on bitterness and has lively carbonation. Aftertaste has some banana features in it. Hard to find the citrus flavors that I associate with Witbier, tastes more like an above average Hefeweizen. But no worries, I do enjoy it.

Draft at Moriartys. Cloudy pale yellow pour with white foam. Fragrant wheat beer aroma. Tastes mostly like a Hoegaarden but has a nicely unfiltered body and some dryer citrus notes. Otherwise standard witbier flavors. Better than the commercial wheat beers (Blue Moon, etc.) and common Hefeweizens but not as extraordinary as some of the best out there (e.g. Kronenbourg Blanc). But if you like wheat beers you should definitely give this one a try.
