COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or "white" ale, this Rascal is unfiltered (yup, that’s yeast on the bottom) and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel producing a refreshingly fruity thirst quencher.

Poured from 12oz bottle hazy dark yellow color with thick frothy white head. Aroma is yeastiness with some coriander and lemon spices. Flavor is pretty light and underwhelming taste of yeast but balanced by a light lemon note on the backend.

This is the best American version of the White Belgian Ale. It has enough flavor to stand alone, but goes well with a simple meal.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2007 Bottle. Classic cloudy, pale piss color. Small, lasting head with a little lace. Clean coriander-citrus, yeast, and bubblegum aroma. Flavor is similar, but with more peppery hops and bitter orange peel than expected. As a result, this one seems less sweet than I normally prefer in a wit, but it seems to work well in this beer. Palate is dry and smooth, with good hop and carbonation-tingle, refreshing and light-bodied.

12 oz. bottle pours a cloudy light lemon yellow color with tight white head that leaves a delicate lacing when it dissipates, which it does rather quickly. Aroma is a yeasty citrus bouquet. Coriander is evident but not overpowering. Front palate is crisp with a bitter orange peel, middle is malty and finish has a buttery popcorn taste. Low hops taste. Easy to drink and nice in hot weather. Medium to light body makes it too easy to drink quickly, but it’s a tasty one. This would be a nice accompaniment to a spinach salad with bleu cheese and dried cranberries or apricots.

12oz bottle. Lemonade’ishly hazy pour with minimal head, sour tangy aroma (floral & coriander), watery palate with soft but refreshing finish. Excellent beer absolutely delicious. A very pleasant witbier, a bit different from the rest, that i will buy again.

Poured from bottle...beautiful cloudy/milky yellow color. Very nice white head...wonderful complex mix of aromas, spice and citrus...Just the right amount of bitterness...fades into nice mouth feel...This is sweet, but not too sweet...good job and a fine beer.

No head, pale yellow appearance. Smells vigorously of lemony citrus. Something about the aroma and taste reminds me of spicy venison sausage... I bet it would be a perfect compliment to venison sausage, at least. Thin and fizzy, like a soda. Not much aftertaste.

Full review with photos and links to other related blog reviews and articles: http://beer47.com/2009/04/avery-white-r review:----- Appearance. White Rascal has a nice white frothy head that lingers in the form of a thin layer of foam on the top of your beer until the last drop. It is pale yellow-white in color and cloudy in appearance. ----- Smell. The aroma of this beer has the expected Belgian yeast smell but it is slightly subdued. The aroma has a smooth ripe banana smell. It has a hint of citrus and and sweet grains. ----- Taste. White Rascal has a light grain-like sweetness that can be described as refreshing. There is just the lightest hint of bitterness and it is enough to balance the light maltiness in the beer. The orange peels come through with a some citrus flavor in the finish. ----- Mouthfeel. The mouthfeel is that of a light-bodied beer with just the right amount of carbonation. ----- Drinkability. Just like many beers of this style, White Rascal is a very drinkable beer appropriate not only for warm weather but also for a slightly chilly evening.
