A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or "white" ale, this Rascal is unfiltered (yup, that’s yeast on the bottom) and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel producing a refreshingly fruity thirst quencher.

Full review with photos and links to other related blog reviews and articles: http://beer47.com/2009/04/avery-white-r review:----- Appearance. White Rascal has a nice white frothy head that lingers in the form of a thin layer of foam on the top of your beer until the last drop. It is pale yellow-white in color and cloudy in appearance. ----- Smell. The aroma of this beer has the expected Belgian yeast smell but it is slightly subdued. The aroma has a smooth ripe banana smell. It has a hint of citrus and and sweet grains. ----- Taste. White Rascal has a light grain-like sweetness that can be described as refreshing. There is just the lightest hint of bitterness and it is enough to balance the light maltiness in the beer. The orange peels come through with a some citrus flavor in the finish. ----- Mouthfeel. The mouthfeel is that of a light-bodied beer with just the right amount of carbonation. ----- Drinkability. Just like many beers of this style, White Rascal is a very drinkable beer appropriate not only for warm weather but also for a slightly chilly evening.

12 FL OZ ($9 6pack) pretty surprising beer from a USA brewery. has a lot of carbonation like a German Hefe. Pretty tasty and would buy again.

Old rating. Bottle at a jazz bar in NY. Clear golden color with a big soapy white head. Aromas of coriander, arugula, citrus and wheat. Taste is more of the same but quite wheat heavy. Tastes sweet with a slight peppery finish. Not that good for a witbier.

35cl can. Clear golden pour with thick white head, nice lacing. Aroma of citrus, herbs and cellar. Taste is fresh bread, exotic fruits and raisins. ligh carbonation. Aftertaste is short, a bit sweet and alcoholic. Interesting wit, missed the spices though.

White fluffy head two fingers in depth. Translucent and a very pale straw yellow color. The aroma is banana phenolic notes from the belgian yeast, corriander and clove. The taste is the same as the aroma with a citrus zest in the back end. However, this beer does leave a chalky aftertaste. Overall pretty simple but not bad.

355ml can. Hazy yellow with fluffy one finger white head. Peppery and yeasty aroma with some cilantro and light citrus freshness as well as, of course, a clear wheat character. Light citrusy and wheaty flavor with some pepper and yeast in the finish. Very light and refreshing mouthfeel.

Tap at Imazato. Wheaty, spicy nose with citrus and coriander. flavor is rather sweet and bread, with not quite enough citrus or tartness to cut through. Full and a bit heavy for the style.

Can’t smell much. Maybe some light cream and yeast. Taste is the same with a bit of coriander in the background. Medium carbonation with slight foam.
