COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This oatmeal stout has an explosion of flavor created by dark roasted grains, and a 2 row barley. A full bodied oatmeal stout that has tastes of chocolate and a smoothness from the oatmeal.

Pint, at taphouse. Good aroma, roasty, strong on the roast, oat is mild brownish black color, ok head and lace. Bittersweet flavor. Medium body, creamy thick mouthfeel. Dry finish. Good oaty, bit on roast side of things. Good now that it’s cooler. Little smokey, Ashton taste as it warms.

Draft at the restaurant. Pours a clear very dark brown color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, nuts, bitter hops. The taste is rich chocolate and cocoa, bitter hops, oats, nuts, faint honey notes. Lingering bitterness, well balanced, average carbonation. Very nice beer.

Growler from Whole Foods, Durham. Yeah, the temp jumped back up and a little chill in the air would make this more appealing, but overall this is a nice, gritty, and robust stout from a solid local brewery. Thick near-black pour, oily body, and a fluffy one-finger head on top. Sticky lacing abides. Nose is char, chocolate, and bitter bean, very appealing. More subdued chocolate in the taste, but not a confection, since the roasted malts close things out proper. Hefty, flavorful, and a well done brew overall.
