A hearty Tripel Belgian ale. Don’t be afraid of the devil..he likes to party...but likes to take it up a notch..hahaha. This Tripel ale will grow hair on you in places you don’t want. If you are from NC you will know where this place is...

Draught at World of Beer. Pour is a cloudy golden with a medium white head. Chose this beer because of the name and provenance (being from NC). Taste is a little sticky...wheat with a bit of citrus fruit. Not what I was expecting from the title (somehow I don’t imagine the devil drinking a Belgian Ale on his tramping grounds) but an acceptable beer for the style nonetheless.

Type: 12-oz. can Glass: Stone Ruination IPA pint glass From: Total Wine & More in Ballantyne (Charlotte), N.C. Price: $2.99 Purchased: Sept. 9, 2014 Consumed: Sept. 16, 2014 Misc.: N/A Poured a golden, straw, semi-hazy color with 1-to-2 fingers of off-white head. No bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass initially, but then came up after a few sips. Sporadic spots of foamy lacing along the sides of the glass. Below average retention on the top all the way down. (Sight - 3.77) Smelled banana, cloves, sugary Belgian spices, kiwi, green grapes, faint all-spice, honeycomb and light cinnamon. Nice on the nose. (Smell - 4.09) Tasted real close to the nose, but better in all aspects. Very nice. The sugary sweet Belgian spices dominated here. Also cloves, banana, green grapes, kiwi, caramel, all-spice and sugary honey notes. (Taste - 4.25) Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Long, astringent finish. (Feel - 4.15) This was a very good Tripel. I wish I had a 6-pack. (Overall - 4.15) 4.16 93 A-

Serving: Draft. Straight gold pour with a thin white head. Sweet nose with hint of yeast, banana liquor, and spices. Downright sweet on the tongue at first with straight forward Belgian yeast notes, banana, and a light spice. Clean finish. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. Not complex but decent.

St. Augustine, Fl. - Broudy’s Fine Wine & Spirits - 12 oz can. Slightly hazy medium golden pour, very light head. Aroma of bubble gum, scuppernong grapes and a hint of yeast. Flavor is decent with some light cloves, a hint of bubble gum, some Belgian candii sugar notes. Mouthfeel has a decent thickness to it. Overall, decent.

Smooth as hell. The most balanced beer I’ve ever had.. Border like to much lacks impact but still impressive. Hides the alcohol well.. Nice brew

Can from tipples. Definitely my first canned tripel. Pours clear golden colored with a creamy half finger head on top. Dusty funky aroma, some light banana esters, yeasties, dry. Flavor is sweet banana esters, some pears, maybe a hint of spice, honey, and light yeast funk lingering on the palate. The 9.2% shows on this, with low plus carbonation. Was not expecting that until I took a sip as the nose is very much traditional dry dusty Belgian tripel, but the taste is very much like other overly sweet American attempts at the Tripel. Not bad but a little heavier than I want in this style.

Pours a hazy gold with a thick white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, banana esters, honey and malt. Taste is very sweet, banana esters, Belgian yeast. This is way too sweet.

355ml can. Pours golden with a low white head that disappears almost immediately. Smells of sweet malts and caramel with a metallic and slightly unpleasant note, maybe along with some hops and yeast. Taste is strong malts, very sweet, very light final bitterness.

12oz can. Clear golden color with white head. Nice spicy yeast, dusty pale malt, candi sugar, light booze aromas. Medium body with soft carbonation. Big bready, dusty cracker malt base brew with some spicy, earthy flavors, and a candi sugar sweetness____nice spicy bitter alcohol twang to finish---good.

Super hazy orange and cloudy amber coloured body with a thin, fast dying tan head. Aroma of honey, coriander seed, wheat, yeast, bread, curacao and a lot of alcohol. Medium-bodied; Large wheat and yeast presence at first with a strong curacao and orange flavour as well, with a lot of alcohol coming through in the taste near the end. Aftertaste shows a subdued bread and grain flavour with a lot of honey and peach tastes, but the alcohol and curacao notes are the strongest. Overall, a decent tripel with perhaps too much alcohol and/or wheat notes. Nice to try and having a tripel in a can is actually a pretty neat thing. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (Foggy Bottom), DC on 13-January-2014 for US$2,99 sampled at home in Washington on 08-July-2014.
