On tap at the brewery. Had some nice spices in it, but they didn’t overpower the hops. Definitely a warming beer that I love during the winter.

Interesting brew. Definitely something you’d want on a cold night, but a tad too strong for a real session. Would pair amazingly with some chili or a strong beef stew.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear reddish-brown with a small tan head. The aroma is smoky malt. The taste is the smoky malt with spices.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is spicy, with a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg. Flavor is winter spice, malt and a slightly bitter finish. It’s a bit bland though, and the finish comes off as astringent.

Kinda sweet, almost tastes like a pumpkin ale. Pretty light for an American strong too, but decent.

Sort of the typical winter warmer/stronger brown ale with spices. Growing on me a bit with each sample. Not overboard on the spice, which I prefer. Also seems a little darker in appearance and feel for the style, which probably explains the maltier flavor. I grabbed on end-of the season clearance for about half-price, so well worth the try.

Dark pour almost like a porter. I really enjoy how this beer has A distinct beginning middle and end.The beginning notes are of chocolate and roasted flavors the middle is more sweet with holiday spices and the and finishes withA slight bitterness. Each delicious and very noticeable. Good winter beer!

On draft at the brewery last June during the tour. Dark brown pour. Smoky, some nutmeg. Interesting. Malty sweet finish.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Undated 22oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter.
Pours a clear, dark reddish-mahogany with a modest tan head.
Malty, smokey and spicy compared to the average "winter warmer" (as if, with all the variability, such a thing existed). Some dark fruit and hints of hops. Excellent aroma with very good taste. Smooth, medium-full body with medium-low carbonation.

At the DC Craft Beer Festival. Poured a dark hazy cola color with an off-white head. Aroma was light malty notes with some fruity and spice notes. Flavor was some roasted malts, fruity notes, nice mellowed spices. Enjoyable.
