2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Orange-gold beer with a light foamy head. Floral piney aroma is quite strong. Flavor has aggressive bitterness up front that develops even more astringent with slight citrus flavors. The hops really dominate this one, making it kind of monotone. Drinkable, but not particularly interesting.

Can - chunky foamy head on the pour. Lots of lacing on the glass. The color is dark yellow with an orange hue. Definitely an earthy hop taste but it seems a little too dry. It’s a sippable beer but nothing spectacular.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Mixed reactions to this canned IPA. Has a great citrus aroma from the hops followed by a relatively disappointing (but good) flavor. There was too much foamy head, even with a gentle pour. The medium body was about right for style and it seemed smoother than average, but there was also an astringency that I felt even on my lips. Too many unflawed IPAs out there to recommend this one.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draft at Jakes on Main in Danville. Pours a pale cloudy amber. Citrus hop aroma. Some light pine notes with plenty of bitter grapefruit rind. A very respectable IPA.

I have had this brew on draft, from a 22 oz bomber, and currently siping noe straight from the can. My first sip this afternoon reminded me of how i fell in love with hoppy beers when i first began to trying craft beers. The hops taste super green. there isnt alot of sweetness here, just strong hop bite. It isn’t the most fantastic IPA ever, but I like it as a fairly easy to find (here in NC) go to IPA.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This beer comes across as a one-hop show from the first nose. Poured into a wide mouth tulip from a 12oz can. Pours orange-golden and fairly hazy. Smells of underdeveloped bittering hops and not much else, no fruit, no pine, just whiffs like the first hop over a homebrew batch. Taste follows suit with a single dimension of big bitter with no palate payoff. Malt is almost non-existent. (as advertised) This beer would have possibility with a lot more hop complexity.

12oz can from Southern Season. Pours cloudy pale orangish with thick fluffy head. Aroma is punchy earthy hops. Taste is clean bitter somewhat harsh hops and light golden body. Hops are lacking in complexity, no citrusy or pine notes really. A bit one dimensional. I have to say, I never though I’d see a beer from Fuquay-Varina... the amount of growth in craft beer in the Triangle over the past 10 years is amazing.

Sample pour of slightly hazed gold with full finger fully white head. Nose is quite citrusy and hopped, grassy, some different off flavors I can’t quite place. Flavor is similar. Great hop character but that off flavor comes in on the back and kinda lingers.

Awesome IPA, frothy head, bitter as can be, drank in chapel hill at Sanswhich.
