The scotch ale is produced with the finest Maris Otter barley malt. We use the fine handcrafted Crisp malt from the UK as the base malt in this beer. Scotch ale would not be complete without the world renowned Weyerman cold smoked Bamberg malt additions. We also add roasted barley for color and Briess crystal malts for additional body. This easy drinking ale is true to style.

Pours clean ruby brown with one finger of sandy tan head. Nose is malt forward with a lightly smokey character and dextrinous caramel-y quality. Malty/dextrinous flavor with notes of caramel and raisiny sweetness. Toasted grain and spicy alcohol. Nice. Medium body.

Very nice scotch ale with a nice crisp malt base and a good bit of malts that kept it very true. Not much roast. Like these guys.

On tap 4 oz. taste at DC Beer Fest at Nationals Park in SE Washington, DC. Nearly opaque, dark rusty-red brown with a small khaki head and fair lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel and smoke. Taste of toffee, roasted malt, smoke and chocolate. Medium/full body and medium/high carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught. Pours a clear amber color with a light tan head. Nose is quite malty and has some caramel notes to it with a slight bit of toasting. Taste has just a bit smoke in there in addition to the caramel and toastiness. Feels remarkably light.

Served on draft at the taphouse. Pours a clear copper color with a creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of earthy notes, toffee malts and a fruity finish. The taste is toffee, earthy notes, berries and something a little bit off. I suspect it might be the taplines more than the beer itself. Medium bodied, average carbonation, pretty solid other than that off-flavor, which is sad, because that was all keeping me from REALLY liking this beer.

at Aviator Tap House.Good aroma, sweet, roasty, chocolate, nutty, little peat. Clean orange brown color, ok head, faded quick, little to no lace. Sweet bitter flavor. Medium body, oily creamy mouthfeel, sweet finish. Opened up nicely as warmed, aroma was favorite part, by a little, got some nice chocolate....
