UPDATED: APR 19, 2014 Pours a somewhat amber color, clear, with a slightly off color white head. Decent foam. The aroma is malty and also as you would expect there is the addition of honey. Not strong but still pretty noticeable. The taste is sweet followed by some bitterness also. You can almost taste the honey. Not bad, but nothing really rememberful.

@ Kaunas Brewpub. Coppery color with an off-white and creamy head, good lacework and mild duration. Aroma has notes of light toasted malts, light honey with flowery hints. Flavor is slightly sweet, good maltiness with a light toasty mouthfeel. Smooth on palate with light bitterness in the final.

Commissioned honey beer for a Lithuanian brewpub, tasted at Delirium Café. Thick and creamy, egg-white, very stable head over a deep copper coloured beer. Aroma of caramel, honey, iron, lemon zest, iced tea, old cookies and biscuit; some oxidation setting in. Taste begins sweetish, honeyish but not too cloying, medium carbo, caramelly malts, thin body (thinned out by age, I assume), bit metallic, soft grassy hops in the finish. Acceptable as a honey beer but not much more. I suspect the basic beer is a pale lager?

Bottle from Drinks of the World (DE), thanks to Mathias for accommodating to the order. Powerful aroma of Waldhonig, smothering the malt and a light whiff of pork marinade, all so dark and pungent, to the point of being intimidating. The beer has a very photogenic dark copper tone, shining as if recently polished, with a head of maritime foam texture. But the flavour is surprisingly nice and friendly, after the whole power of the aroma. Of course the forest honey vein is still strong, but there is some citrus, spices, and even a feel of a nice Witbier. Lovely and crisp, the thin body helps making it all a lot more easy to drink. Really nice.

Bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a stemmed glass. ABV 6%. New country tick. Pours an amber coloured beer, with a clear body. Just a couple of bubbles in there and a thin, both in size and density, off-white head. Low retention, it leaves light lacing on the glass. Very obvious honey aroma and next to that an aroma that brings a hefeweizen to mind, with fruity notes, banana, some clove. Quite nice and inviting. Taste is quite sweet and also reminds of a hefe. Honey, malts, light caramel, fruity, with clove. The sweetness retreats quickly and gives its place to a pleaasant bitterness with good duration. Slighty metallic aftertaste. Medium thin on the body, good carbonation, enough to feel it on the tongue. Overall , very nice, doesn’t disappoint.

Pale brown with a decent head. It’s too sweet overall with lots of malt, caramel and honey.

Bottle shared with McTapps. Not a bad one for an underestimated beer. Very easy though but with a bit of honey in the note. Sweet surprise and definitely worth a try.
