COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Avondale Brewing Company’s historic building was once a watering hole known as the Long Branch Saloon. A favorite spot for locals and travelers alike, the Long Branch Saloon saw it’s share of friendly drinkers and poker games as well as a few gristly shootouts.

The Long Branch Scottish is an Americanized 80 Shilling Scottish Ale. The appearance is a slightly dark shade of brown and the nose is filled with roasted and bready malt. This brew is malt forward with dominate caramel notes backed by a light hop bitterness. A very clean, crisp malt character that leaves hints of roast and smoke that dissipates to a very clean and enjoyable finish.

Bomber shared by tia at the 21st Richmond Gathering, 11/1/14. Pours a dark brown color with a thin head. Poor head retention. Aroma of not much, mild caramel malt. The taste is caramel, toffee. Thin bodied, weak.

Mild cherry aroma, kind of boozy. Hazy chestnut, thin head. Sweet cereal flavor. Light body. I’ve had vienna lagers that were similar to this.

From the bottle poured a brownish brew with a slight white head. Subtle aromas and flavors of malt and hops. Tastes slightly better than it looks.

Bottle pour @ the 21st Richmond Gathering. Light brown with a small tan head. Nose of strong caramel. Some old musty leather. A burlap sack filled with milk chocolate. Taste is sort of knackered. Cardboard and apple. Grape and caramel. Must. Medium body, soft carbonation. Meh.

Dark deep nutty brown with a thin carbonated light tan cap. Nutty and sweet with notes of earthy cara-cocoa and dry toast. Smooth and earthy flavor with a peaty-sweet nutty flavor thats got dark toffee and a bit of smoke, A bit light and a bit too earthy, but somewhat pleasant.
