A powerful, rich and fruity beer. Flavours of candied orange peel dominate this full-bodied, decadent brew.

Bottle. Bronze with a small head. Lovely malty flavour with some fruitiness. Plenty of body and some unusual distinctive flavours. A good one.

Colour is a bit of weedy amber / brown with insipid head. First aroma is slightly meaty, then (see previous reviewer) I do get pear drops. Medium body, low carb. I’m getting umami in the taste as well, plus the orange and a decent malt base. Peppery finish though the alcohol peeps through as well - could be a bit more refined.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo webshop, consumed at home Thursday 11th February 2016 Hazy amber colour, a bit grubby looking, an off-white head sits atop. Loz gets Pear drops on the nose, I cannot say that I do. A little chewy in the mouth, fruity with a little tart fruit skin. Some of the flavour is reminiscent of a more traditional style but it’s good. Some sweet muddy citrus flavours (sweet orange) soggy bread, Pear drops (just a touch) good beer. A7 A3 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4

Bottle. Golden brown with an off white head. Nutty weetabix malts with toffee and spices. Peppery alcohol with orange and lemon. Dry and woody with bready yeast. Marzipan with a low pine finish. Creamy oak barrel. Decent English Ipa.

Bottled, 500ml from The Real Ale Store, Newark, Notts. Gold with white head. This proved to be quite a smooth beer, fruity with a peachy, apricot flavour along with juicy orange. The alcohol seemed really well masked in a fuller body. Easy drinking for a bigger beer, liked it.

Bottle shared at Leighton’s gaff. Thanks to Scopey for this one. Translucent orange/ golden coloured pour with a loose lasting white head. Aroma is sweet citrus, nutty, grapefruit, dusty. Flavour is composed of tangy citrus, grainy, grain tanin, Assertive grapefruit bitterness. Palate is dry, grainy with highish carbonation. Nice lingering tangy citrus.

From a bottle, bought from a brewey stall at malton food fest. Pours hazy orange, with a thick white foamy head. Lots of orange on the tongue, an easy drinking ESA .

Bottle split at LKS skyline, thanks to Paulo, 27/05/15. Hazed orange golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is light spice, dark fruits, prune jus, caramel. Taste comprises bitter orange, straw, sweet’n’sour notes, straw, fruit cake, sultanas, candied fruit peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough ES, decent balance, drinkable stuff.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Paul. Pours unclear gold with a frothy white head. The nose has some bready pale malts, slight marmalade, dry pale grains. Medium sweet flavor with some pleasant oily hops, citrus fruits, pale bread, hay. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Pretty well balanced on the finish with some bready sugars, light bitter hay, pine needles, more citrus. Solid.

Bottle shared at Leighton’s. It pours hazy golden amber with a medium white head. The nose is sweet, juicy, stewed orange, candied peel, brioche and assorted muffin selection. The taste is smooth, some bitterness, malt-driven, cracker, doughy, cereal, spice, light alcohol, earth, pear drops and sweet me.on with a dry, sort of spicy finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Decent gear.
