Commercial Description:
Dark chocolate in color, you can see a wonderful reflection if you hold it up to the light. It is round and soft with the warm, sweet aroma of freshly roasted malted barley. A satisfying, malty taste, with coffee-ish tones and a hint of plummy fruitiness in the finish. Complex and beautifully balanced.

Pours brown, creamy head. Nose is malty, sweet, maybe some dark fruit. Flavor is malt, dark fruit, coffee, and a little dustiness. Maybe my glass was dirty. Easy drinkin brew.

500. Pours crystal clear very dark brown with a thick, creamy tan head that falls quickly to loose film and sedimentary rings of lace. Nice rich and restrained nose of roast grains, lightly sour, not unlike the coffee the brewer suggests. Rich and creamy but very lightly carbed body, very clean and drinkable. Big nutty, roasty, lightly coffeed mid-palate. Clean finish. Great stuff.

Bottle 0,33l 16 Jun 06. Dark brown /amber colored. A tanned creamy head. Roasted malty aroma. Sweet malty flavor with fruity hints. Roasted dry bitter aftertaste. A good dunkel but a bit too sweet.

Amber of color with a light beige head. An aroma of malt, animal, hay, toffee notes. A flavor of nuts, toffee, caramel, notes of roasted malt and a bitter finish.

Dark red, maybe even brown. Sweet aroma, some roastiness. Flavor is very malty, hints of dark fruit. Very, very smooth, easy to drink without being dull and uninteresting. One of the finer dunkels, and I’d expect nothing less from Aying.

(bottle): Pours a dark reddish brown color. Huge foamy, almost creamy off-white head. Good Lacing & somewhat lasting. Dark nutty, clovey aroma. Strong aroma of grape juice. Some smoke. Grape, nutty taste. Watery, wheaty & slightly dirty/dusty. Dark wheaty taste. Easy to drink.

500 ml. bottle. Pours a light brown/red with a strong white foamy head. The aroma is pretty light; some malts and a sweet brown sugar. The taste is really smooth and fairly light; mostly rich malts with some dark fruit, brown sugar and perhaps some coffee. Really easy to drink, but also really good.

One of the most perfect examples of a Dunkle you can find, this is how you brew a ’complex’ beer without resulting in a muddled mess. like the description brags, "malty taste with a hint of plum-fruitiness" delicious!
