| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 18, 2005 Pours a very dark amber body. Aroma is earthy and chocolately but also caramel. Flavor is the same. Finishes extremely smooth, but almost feels watery. It avoids it because there’s complexity here. Good stuff. larsga (3000), Oslo, Norway
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 16, 2005 Big tan, creamy head over beautifully dark red/purple body. Aroma of very sweet malts, with notes of syrup and hay. Nice. The taste is again very sweet and malty, but is soon dominated by a smoky hay-like flavour, which lingers and fades. Subtle, yet complex, and very
interesting. An excellent lager!

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 13, 2005 The color is a very clear red/mohogany with a big off-white head. The aroma is dominated my malt, with toffee and roasty overtones. The tatse is similar, but has some chocolate a fruity tones as well. It still finsihes relatively dry with some nuttiness and bitterness in the aftertaste. delmecum (87), Western Illinois, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 12, 2005 A better Dunkel than any of the other I have tried. Malty with coffe overtones. I guess I’m just not a Dunkel kind of beer taster. They don’t make me want to finish the glass. Cletus (5061), Connecticut, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 9, 2005 Pours ruby red with a generous off tan head that laces the glass nicely throughout the sampling. Aromas of caramel, brown sugar, and pepper radiate from this one initially. As the beer settles, some nice mellow clove like qualities emerge. Taste is of roses, cherries, and some tangy oranges. As the beer warms up, some nice chocolatey nutty notes begin to emerge. Finish is grassey and a bit bitter but not overwhelming. Full tingy mouthfeel. porterdude (170), Bellingham, Washington, USA
