Bottle. Clear and red with a big head. Leaves an ok lace. Not much aroma. Mild coffee, chocolate and mustiness. Very crisp taste. Starts very fizzy, almost seltzery. Roasted malts, chocolate, a little nutty and little woody. Finishes somewhat dry and hoppy. Towards the end of the glass, it loses the maltiness and just gets fizzy. Throughout the glass, there’s overtones of something faint that I can’t quite put my finger on ... light fruit, banana, maybe. Overall, it’s pretty good.

Nice dark red color, little beige head. rich malty and caramel aroma, hints of nuts come up too with mild chocolate, smooth and rich aroma indeed. Chocolate stronger in flavor with malty caramel, ends with mildly dry mouthfeel. Roasted chocolate lasts in aftertaste. Could be fuller, still nice brew.

Strong plum fruitiness in the toasty and sweet malty aroma. Clear brown body is topped by a creamy cover of light tan head. Fairly sweet and toasty with notes of bread, plums, chocolate and toffee. Gentle bitterness in the somewhat dry finish. Very clean and malty. Medium body with lucious, soft, creamy, texture that slides easily across the tongue with a gentle effervescence. Excellent! Dark colored, nice aromas. The taste was fine, but nothing really stood out about it. Seemed somewhat weak and watered down. Dunkel is one of my favorite styles, but this beer didnt stand out. Not very much complexity, was hoping for more.

Spice in dough aroma. Very smooth and creamy, high quality ingredients. Nice easy drink for lunch, a pint is a good serving measure. Sugar in there for fizz and sweetness. Touch of roast. Hops for some bitterness. Had a tap freshness to it.

Golden, reddish-brown. Lively fizz with a moderate off-white, bubbly head. Smells of rich caramel, toffee, coffee and chocolate malt. First impression is nice and light, refreshing but well rounded. Seems a little thin and it loses complexity as I work my way down my boot glass. A decent beer, but pretty unimpressive. I was hoping for a more noteworthy experience from this one.

500ml bottle. Tasted in a 20oz lager glass. 47°. Pours dark red, almost brown. 1/2" of white head that leaves quickly. Aroma is all malt, sweet and nutty. Taste is sweetish malt, with some nuttiness, woodiness, and hints of coffee and fruit. The finish is of roasted malt. The mouthfeel is pretty good for this type of beer. I would love to drink this out of a huge stein in a German beer hall so that I could connect with my German roots. This is good, but probably not a beer style that I would generally drink.

Bottled, standard Euro-1/2liter, thanks Sammy. hard pour reveals a lovely ruby red dark lager complete with fluffy mocha cap and beautiful lacing. Well carbonated. Smells of burt treacle over ripe fruit. Front end is dominated with huge chewy malts wonderful decernment of coffee and sweet roasty bready malts...dried fruit notes like dates..finish is prolonged where the toasty sweety malt and dried fruit tastes converge into a coffee and toasted raisin bread flavor which slowly dries under the influence of the herbal-woodsy hops catching up on the palate in this malt pronounced, hop attenuated dunkel. This is dark lager as it should be...pretty much as close as you’ll get to sex in a lager glass.
