Dark chocolate in color, you can see a wonderful reflection if you hold it up to the light. It is round and soft with the warm, sweet aroma of freshly roasted malted barley. A satisfying, malty taste, with coffee-ish tones and a hint of plummy fruitiness in the finish. Complex and beautifully balanced.

Not one of the better Ayinger brews. However my bottle was probably very old since they didnt have it in the Comp, nor did anyone ever see it before.

** Old rating, 0,5l crown-top-bottle, 2006. Mild-weiches, karamellig-malziges Bier. Nicht zu viel Herbe spürbar, tief und malzig-würzig. Mittellanger, malzig-leicht süßlicher Nachgeschmack. lecker!

Copper to mahogany colored clear beer with little blonde head. Aroma has herbs, toffee, loafy bread and grass. Flavor has sweet malts, toffee, grass and some dark fruits. Palate is medium full with quite strong carbonation. Finish has medium long bitterness, lasting quite long. Aftertaste has herbs, chocolaty sweetness and malts. A decent dunkel, sweet and herbal.

Pours a clear, light brown/dark copper color, topped with a decent tan colored head. A mild malty aroma, some roasty notes and quite some caramel - nice. The taste starts sweet, slightly roasty with nice caramel and chocolate. Some bitterness in the finish. Very drinkable and delicious.

On tap at Ayinger braustuberl, Aying. Deep ruby color, clear, dark mahogany in distance, big beige head. Quiet nose with roasted malts. Aroma: toasted malts with a chocolatey aftertaste, dark bread, fennel and spices. Taste is perfectly balanced from an initial mild sweetness to a decisive but not aggressive bitter finish. Body is medium, low carbonation. Finish is dry, medium duration. Excellent dunkel, classic style. "Hell" of a dunkel. 12.8°

"perfect for the style. Ayinger knows what they’re doing and it shows. Nopthing that;ll blow your socks off, but the kind of beer you want to throw back several times during Oktoberfest...or the playoffs!"

A legjobbfajtából való, télen melegít, nyáron hűsít. Tavasszal és ősszel csak oltja a szomjat és ellazít.

0,5l Flasche. Dunkles Bier mit heller Schaumkrone. Riecht angenehm nach Röstmalzen. Schmeckt auch so, angenehm süffig.
