COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

Bottle poured into the special brau Weiss glass. Bartender swirled the bottle and created some awesome, fluffy head. Poured hazy yellow. Smelled of banana and clove. Tastes fruity buy also dry.

Bottle shared with Sander at his place, while eating a lovely roast chicken from Fairway. Decent hefe. Nothing too out-of-the-ordinary to report. Just pretty decent all around.

On tap at Leon’s Full Service. Pours a cloudy butterscotch color with a nice, fluffy, white head. The aroma is lemons, coriander, bread, and a bunch of fruity esters and funky yeast. The flavor is very sweet and a little tart. The palate is light to medium, smooth and drinkable. Overall, this is an excellent Hefeweizen,

Ayinger’s hefe is a hazy pale yellow beer with the classic notes of banana, citrus and faint sweet spicing. Tastes a little bitter at the front while the wheat becomes very apparent towards the finish. This beer is very good, but I don’t think the champagne analogy holds up. Tingles on the palate, but does not sting. I won’t go so far as to say this beer is overrated, because it is pretty good overall and very refreshing. -

Mild banana, heavy cloves, floral notes in nose. Pale, slight haze, thick fluffy head. Drank in a weisse beer glass. Ripe banana taste, a bit light and delicate. Some sweet, sour and dry interchange going on in the palate that is quite interesting. Nice.
