yemenmocha (344), Glendale, Arizona, USA Apr 30, 2009 Pours cloudy golden color with beautiful white head.
Nose is typical banana clove, with more clove than usual. Citrus & bread are present as well. The aromas come up like fresh bread straight from the oven.
Palate is a somewhat light bodied, highly carbonated, with fresh bready banana clove, maybe some papermill or other industrial flavors as well (in a good way). Light, refreshing hefe.
Excellent example of the style, but not the best imported Hefe-Weizen I’ve sampled. darkseduction (198), Zweibrücken, Germany Apr 28, 2009 Bottle 50cl. Pours a muddy pale brew with firm and stable white head. Nice carbonisation, refreshing. Great performance. Round and typical yeasty impression, typical for the style but more complex fruit and malt components than other Hefeweizen. Refreshing and complex at the same time, thats a masterpiece. A great brew from a great brewery. hobbersr (393), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada Apr 27, 2009 Pours a hazy whiteish yellow with a nice frothy white head. Aroma is intense for a wheat. Bright banana and bubblegum jump out first with coriander, flowers, and clove. Tastes very fresh and crisp. This thing is like all the wheat beers I’ve tried all rolled into one beer. This is awesome! Bubblegum, banana, spices, citrus, and yeast. Mouth feel is light and refreshing. Excellent beer, best weise I’ve had to date. SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Apr 24, 2009 50cl bottle. Opaque yellow with a frothy white head. Wheat, cream, banana and clove in the aroma. The flavor is lightly tangy and sweet with a crisp and lightly spicy finish. Light bodied with lots of carbonation. As expected, this pretty much nails the style, with a good amount of subtlety and restraint in the yeast department, adding to the refreshment factor. You can tell that this would be much better still on its home turf. LtJudge (431), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Apr 24, 2009 Pours a golden yellow color with a white head. Aromas of clove and bananas dominate the nose.Very crisp banana flavor that is quite dry.Nice aftertaste as well. Not my favorite style, but I could drink more of this! Slipstream (735), USA Apr 21, 2009 Lovely big head that fades pretty fast. Cloudy, tan pour and a pleasant, tangy aroma. Fairly light and sweet hefe flavor with some nuttiness and a touch of salt. Not my favorite from Ayinger or my top hefe, but still a very nice brew. xmarcnolanx (789), Kirkwood, Missouri, USA Apr 17, 2009 Aroma is tons of bananas and cream with a slight acidity and wheatiness.
Taste is crisp, low ph, yeast, and lemon.
Finish is creamy, and touches of caramel.
Solid Suede53 (39), Canton, Ohio, USA Apr 15, 2009 Poured a medium orange with a murky dark orange "yeast bomb". Off-white head that dissapated quickly. Aroma: slightly musty and spicy. Taste: strong clove and pepper with faint citrus. As the beer warmed, the taste of banana increased and the spice mellowed. Virtually no finish to speak of. One of the better Hefeweizens I’ve had.
