COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

Pours out to a nice thick off yellow color with a head that hung around. Aroma of yeast, fresh cut wheat, and a touch of fruit. Flavors were that of slight lemon with touch of banana and yeast. This is what a hefeweizen should look and tast like.

Pours a hazey whiteish yellow with a real nice head and some lace. The aroma is yeasty, wheaty, ripe bananas, and a touch of clove spice. The flavor is clovey with a less developed banana flvavor as in others of the style. The flavor is nice and dry and quite refreshing. The palate is right for the flavor. Overall, this is a very good Hefeweizen that I will seek out as a summer beer.

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2004 Hazy, banana color, soft white head, and a body that bubbles like a fish tank aerator is hidden in my glass. Aroma of citrus, kiwi, and fresh bread. Clean citrus flavors with a touch of bubble gum and butter on the tongue. A refreshing and tasty palate cleanser and pleaser. Another worthy beer from Ayinger. Great summer beer that goes well with sushi.

Pours a cloudy medium straw color, with a huge frothy white head that mostly lasts, leaving good lace on the glass. Aroma is quite big and nice - banana, lemon, cookie dough, honey, some clove. Flavor is also quite large - sweet start with a good bit of banana and honey, some spiciness in the middle and end, and a slightly sour, acidic finish. Medium-full bodied, but not heavy at all. Lively carbonation. Supremely drinkable, perfect for quaffing on a nice summer day, out on the boat fishing...and would pair equally well with said fish at the dinner table.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2003 Meringue-like head, didn't stick around terribly long, though. It reminded me of one of those stupid snake "fireworks" you'd have as a kid in the way it solidly rose above the rim of the glass. Spicy-citrusy aroma. Has the color of watered-down apple cider. The flavor starts with a citrusy malt flavor, and finishes with a dry huskiness. What I dislike is the dry aftertaste, it doesn't seem refreshing enough for this type of beer.

Cloudy, but low head retention. Banana and clove aroma. Nice malt and good carbonation. Refresching. This one rates with the best.

Light pale cloud of whiteish yellow with a two finger high head off white tight pillowy cream, the very top much like a moonscape that settles as slowly as sand in an hour glass to a thin steady foam always present; lace is drippy. Smell has a strong sense of banana at first pour with the clove, but subsides as it sits it becomes more of a regular hefe aroma but still favorable of dullish lemon, yeasty must, and the banana and clove not so potent. Taste is mild and full of a soild hefe, good heft with a frothy bold wheat start that leads into the lemon citrus brigade, quite smooth, lightly sour, calming banana and musty yeast takes some grip as it pushes through into the finish with nice lingering clove. Feel starts easy and smooth and fills up quickly to a pretty solid fullness with a substantially lasting finish. This is one very nice hefe, quite enjoyable, refreshing and flavorful. Another one to keep around in the fridge during the summer; heck, any time will due.

A really awesome german wheat. Grainy golden pour with a huge head. The taste is very acidic and dry, slightly brut. Nice hop aroma retains itself throughout and even into the aftertaste. the mouthfeel is full and very very dry. Extremely tasty, and something I will look forward to trying again.

Great German wheat. Great mouthfeel, complex, dry. Very good, but I'll take the Belgan wheats over this one.

Citrusy and yeasty. A Solid wheat beer. Not Ayinger's best, but good nonetheless.
