3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance is a beautiful cloudy golden yellow. There is almost no head, even with the yeast on top of it. Color of pineapple juice.
The banana practically floats above the glass. The yeast is very overwhelming in the nose. It’s really the only
The flavor has that spicy, clove prickliness to it. If I didn’t know better I would think it was a touch of Belgian funk.
The feel is a tad prickly at first, but also smooth and creamy at the end. It might be a hef (with which you can’t do very much) but it’s a legit hef, and a good one.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma: lemon, banana, not much yeast. Pale colour, cloudy. Lightly sour, light sweetness. Creamy texture, average carbonation. An average weizen, a big disappointment after trying their Ur-Weisse. Bottle.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
16.9oz bottle, from Jungle Jim’s in Fairfield. Labeled 5.5%. Hazy golden orange color. Thin off-white head. Some loose bits of lace. Some nice banana, spice flavors. Medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp and soft but moderate to stronger carbonation. Moderate spicy taste, sort of sweet. Some yeast character. Lightly tart. Not bad, but not my favorite german hefeweizen, and certainly not at the standard I hold Ayinger to be at. Tasted a bit overcarbonated, not as full as I’d like, and not as complex and flavorful as I’d hoped.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
0.5 l bottle from Alko. Big head and the usual cloudy hefe weizen appearance with bubbles. Taste might have some bananas or did I just imagine that. Pleasant but quite mild taste for its style. The CO2 gives some extra feeling. Nice, but not special.
