1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Nov 16, 2007 Pours to a murky copper wheat colored body with a lasting dense, soapy white head. The aroma is cloves, bubblegum, and graham crackers. The flavor is really yeasty with bubblegum and cloves. Wheat. Very simple. Wheaty clean palate. Dries my mouth out leaving it wanting more. RSRIZZO (1345), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Nov 15, 2007 Had this beer on 10/13/2007. This is a good Hefe but seems a bit light with a foamy mouth feel and a bit bitter on the end. emerica56 (575), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Nov 12, 2007 This beer pours a cloudy thick orange color to it with a nice and thick head,it also leaves nice laceing on the sides of the glass as you drink it. The aroma is very strong with some lemon zest and citrus with mild hints of vanilla. As you drink it you can taste the weat and how tangy it is initially. Then it is followed by some lemon grass with orange peel. The palte is also very nice with a floral scent which leaves a lasting impression in the back of your mouth for quite some time. jacare (21), Hinsdale, Illinois, USA Nov 11, 2007 I’ve been buying all the German hefe weizen varieties at my local Binny’s and trying them. I’m very partial to Franziskaner and Weihenstephaner. But, you know, I tried the Ayinger and liked it much better than even those. Why? The smoothness and mildness of this one, the yeasty bready nose, the banana sweet flavor. I tried to sip this one but downed a 1/2 liter like it was nothing. The head on the beer is a lot so you have to pour slowly or the entire glass will be foam. This is top Hefe in my book, many others are very good, but I’ll take this one whenever there is a choice. BrianHagmeier (257), Coralville, Iowa, USA Nov 6, 2007 Beautiful cloudy golden appearance mild yeast aroma, slightly lemony. Impressive sharpness to the taste. A tiny bit too sweet, but another great Hefeweizen. 17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 6, 2007 Crazy sweet banana aroma. Very fragrant. Hazy yellow / brown swirl with large white head. Smooth carbonation, very light and fluffy for a medium bodied beer. Really like the understated flavor. Not overwhelmingly sweet like some imitators. Very balanced. Hefeweizenboy (2), Merrillville, Indiana, USA does not count Nov 5, 2007 This is the beer that turned me inot a beer geek. I do not care what others think, Ayinger is the best! I am also a hefeweizen fanatic, so I am a little biased. robforbes (1083), Bremerton, Washington, USA Oct 29, 2007 pours a very cloudy sunshine yellow with a thick 4 finger foamy white head.

taste - fruit, lemon, wheat, there is a sweetness on the back-end that is also a bit tart, leaves the mouth slightly dry and wanting more.
