COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

On tap at Ayinger bierstube, Aying. This weizen uses, as most of the bavarian breweries, the famous Weihenstephaner yeast. And it resembles my all-time favourite Weihenstephaner Weizen. Deep dark yellow to light orange color, hazed, big creamy white head looking like snowy mountains that does’t fade quickly and remains til the end. Weizen perfume on the nose. Classic aroma, very malty with what, orange, banana, vanilla and yeast. Taste is well balanced. Body is medium, soft, smooth, texture tends to be creamy and partly dusty. Finish is dry, very clean. This come closer to the HB one, which i like a lot too, would need to be ’darker’ and add in a bit more hops to pair with the weihenstephaner but still a rock solid and extremely pleasurable top-notch weissbier.

Drank from a pint glass poured from a twelve ounce bottle. Aroma of bread combined with sweet and slight spicey notes. A good solid hefeweizen. The taste of banannas is not overpowering in this brew.

By far my favorite hefeweizen, and the one I know of the highest quality. Murky amber, it offers a clean taste while having the requisite complexity of the yeast. If there’s one hefe you have to have, for me, it’s this one.

* Old rating, 0,5l crown-top-bottle, 2006. Leckeres, mild-weiches Bier. Hefige Banane, Nelken, nicht zu süß. Leckerer, intensiv hefiger mild-weicher Nachgeschmack. Tolle Hefe-note mit mild-weicher Banane bleibt lange auf der Zunge! Toll!

Pours a cloudy gold with a foamy white head and lacing. It has a nice aroma of biscuit, honey, and some spices and floral notes. The flavor is bread and homey up front with a slightly spicy backbone and semi dry finish over a smooth body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very cloudy orange appearance with classic Weizen foam. Lots of yeasts, of course with the expected banana/cloves. A bit of citrus freshness as well. Taste is very interesting, fruity, and with a floral/spicy kick in the finish. Smooth mouthfeel. Great stuff, and something different.

Bottle. Typical hefeweizen pour. Golden, hazy with a big fluffy head. Aroma is spicy, clove, banana, lemon. The taste is wonderful. Clove, fruity but the kicker are the hints of floral that put it over the top. Another great beer from Ayinger.

A brilliant weizenbeer. Beautifully balanced beer. A bit more citrus fruitiness to it when you compare it to the Weihenstephaner who has more of a banana fruitiness. Looks like a weizen, pours like a weizen, smells like a weizen and taste like a great weizen. Really refrehing.

Opaque golden yellow with decent lasting lacing white foam head. Aroma is citrus with vanilla tones, nice spicy. Good soft toned citrus taste, again vanilla taste. A very good Weisse. (Velp 201411)
