jgentgesdo (564), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Jan 19, 2007 Pours beautiful golden with small off-white head that lasts. Nose is creamy and citrus. In the flavor I get candied pear/apple, tangerine, and milky caramel, well balanced. I detected a LOT of ETOH in the middle to the end. Aftertaste is mildly bitter and flavorful. Good. troyc (1173), Lubbock, Texas, USA Jan 18, 2007 (Bottle) Pours a hazy yellow with a good sized head. Fine carbonation with a fruity and yeasty aroma. Banana and some citrus in the taste. Slightly sour aftertaste. Nicely balanced. One of the best hefeweizens I’ve had. BeerVirgin72 (778), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Jan 14, 2007 Poured from bottle. Gold color, nice head. Marvelous. beisen (90), California, USA Dec 27, 2006 This was my second experience with Ayinger, and I am rapidly becoming a fan! Wheaty and sweet, with a very smooth finish. I found this to be a very refreshing Hefeweisen, and I am certain to pick it up again. themadmumis (344), Westminster, Maryland, USA Dec 15, 2006 This is the best Hefeweizen I’ve had. Very well put together. Solid citrus notes that aren’t overpowering. Not watered down, either. As stated in the description, ’it is a benchmark for this style of beer’. That says it all. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA Dec 12, 2006 A very good hefe. Smooth sweet wheat taste. Lots of yeast. Mildly dry finish. Very nice.
