Commercial Description:
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

This is the best Hefeweizen I’ve had. Very well put together. Solid citrus notes that aren’t overpowering. Not watered down, either. As stated in the description, ’it is a benchmark for this style of beer’. That says it all.

A very good hefe. Smooth sweet wheat taste. Lots of yeast. Mildly dry finish. Very nice.

Cloudy straw color. Very creamy and thick white foam. Smells of cloves and bananas. The taste is sweet and "wheat-ey" lol. Good beer.

This is a new favorite of mine. The perfect balance of bitter and sweet. Very smooth and easy to drink, yet a complex palate of bananas and malted wheat with a dry finish. This has become my favorite hefe-weizen.

Bottle. Cloudy lemon color with a nice big white head. Aroma is full of wheat and yeast, hints of lemon as well. Flavor is wheat, lemon, vanilla, and yeast. A pretty decent beer.

Bottled. Cloudy orange colour, the head is big, firm, white and persistent. Wheaty, yeasty, and fruity aroma. There are notes of banana and pear. Again banana and wheat, with also cloves in the flavour, that has the typical sourish taste. The carbonation is high, but not as other beers in the same style. Quite long afteraste. The bitterness is very low. Tasty hefeweizen and again a good beer from Ayinger.

The commercial description is generally accurate (although the champagne comparison is a tad ambitious). A very pleasant lightweight wheat beer with a distinct lemony finish. 500 ML bottle acquired at Milwaukee’s Discount Liquor for $2.69.
