madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA Apr 21, 2006 Bottle. Pours gold with a thin white head with lots of bubbles coming to the top. Aromas of banana, lemons and clove. Very carbonated. Lots of yeast and very mild flavors as compared to the aroma. More of the same bananas, cloves and wheat. Carbonated and thin mouthfeel. Average. Thaichile (599), 10aFly, New Jersey, USA Apr 21, 2006 Bottle. Pours a yellow gold with a slight haze. Decent head that leaves a fine lacing behind. Citrus and banana on the nose, but those flavors are mild upon tasting. Maybe a little bit thin and not as creamy as I had hoped. Not a very robust hefeweizen, but the trademark flavors are present. A good hefeweizen, but I was expecting better. JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 20, 2006 Pale gold with a greenish shine; good whitish head. Cloves, some banana and faint citrus - AND wheat, very obvious. Sweetish-fruity taste, and a peppery, spicey finish. Well-bodied, but a bit fizzy. A bit basic Weizen, I’d expect better from them. presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Apr 15, 2006 Cloudy yellow to gold depending on the width of the wheat-beer glass. Big foamy lasting head. Lots of carbonation. Wheat and zesty lemon aroma. Banana and light honey flavour. Lemon finish. Zesty body with a bit of chewiness. Refreshing. Brodie (540), Blowing Rock, North Carolina, USA Apr 15, 2006 Big banana and bubblegum aroma, nice bready wheat as well. Cloudy pale yellow, huge white head, took a while to pour. Sweet flavor, banana, bubblegum, vanilla, bread. Medium body, high carbonation. This is a great example of the style that leans towards the banana/bubblegum end of the style (as opposed to those that favor clove/spiciness). I could drink a lot of this. thegreenrooster (1811), St.louis, Missouri, USA Apr 14, 2006 Pour is a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is is kind of weak but i do get some wheat and yeast. Flavor is pure lemon zest with a touch of corriander. This is just and average hefe and the Ayinger dunkel has more of a flavor proflie. TipsyMcStager (900), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Apr 11, 2006 spicy yeast aroma. Pours a very nice cloudy yellow, thick foamy white head. High acid profile. Mouthfeel seems thicker and more robust than some of the lower end hefes. Sour crisp finish. Solid hefe. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA Apr 6, 2006 Beer pours a clear, light, bright gold with a large, frothy, white, quickly and mostly diminishing head. The aroma is malty with light notes of toasted grain; light notes of banana, clove, vanilla, and a trace note of fake-butter. The flavor is moderately sweet and trace bitter with a short, lightly sweet finish with a teeny tiny trace plastic note in the retro. The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.
