COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2011 500ml. Pours dense hazy pale yellow, one inch head, very carbonated. Not a strong smell but mostly wheat grain, fresh bread, some lemon citrus. The taste is great with just a little touch on everything great in German wheat and yeast. Some citrusy sweetness and bitterness, a little lemon and clementine orange. Some banana and faint clove from the yeast. A little hay and dryness in finish reminds me of a belgian wit, but then i get some bubblegum and banana and citrus and lingering vanilla as it warms. This is very drinkable for a liquid loaf of bread, and this needs to be more available in the States. Great in the summer, great all the time.

Sampled at Texas Beerfest. Pours a cloudy orange gold with a small creamy white head. The aroma is yeast and clove. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt and yeast with a nice dry fnish. Easy to drink, a good German hefe from Ayinger.

Another classic Hefe and one that I will stock when I see it again. Much better than this is hard to find in a Hefe.

Cloudy golden with a long lasting white head. Aroma is a little weak with notes of wheat, banana, yeast and a little citrus. Flavor is quite sweet. Sweet and light citric finish. Soft and smooth. Very refreshing. 090511

0,5 l bottle kindly shared by LHS at Olympen. Murky pale golden with a rocky, four fingers thick, off-white head leaving a poor lacing. Smoke, wood and spices aroma with a hint of banana. Sweet ripe banana and light acidic flavors. Light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Light syrupy. Dry, acidic finish.
