Commercial Description:
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

The beer pours a cloudy pale straw yellow and appears browner where the glass gets wider, the one inch of snow white head lasted almost the entire glass and left some nice lacing. I’m not sure if I got an old bottle or if this beer is suppose to be like this but the aroma was terrible, a very sharp sent what I can only describe as compost and a very strong sour cherry smell was coming from my glass. Luckily the beer tasted better then the smell. A chalky banana flavor with lots of smooth grassy malts, and a touch of citrus make up most of the flavor, there’s something a little off in the taste of this hefe. The more I drink the more bread I can taste, and as the beer warms more banana flavor comes out. I can’t decide if I like or dislike this beer, I think I’ll settle on liking this beer but not a great hefe and probably wont drink again."

Bottle. Pours a very cloudy pale yellow, with a huge, frothy white head that laces respectably. Nose is full of BANANAS!, sweet lemons, yeast, underripe stone fruits, and coriander. Palate is more banana, with the citrus and a very creamy mouthfeel coming into play. The banana and lemon become more candied as the beer warms, with the yeast and wheat both showing well. A cracking good hefe, though I would have liked a little more hop presence.

Mmmmmm..beer that looks like chicken broth - solid thick goodness! More like a fresh squeezed juice (pinapple) but a bit on the brown side. Huge head that was poured didn’t last leaving no more than a ring - more than enough to constantly stick to the glass. Massive banana aroma smells just like the dehydrated candied ones taste, mild spices and a soft pleasant wheat puts it all together. Has a light tangy taste, soft bananas and a healthy ammount of yeast. Adequate carbonation leaves the tongue somewhat tingly with a soft, yeasty finish. Be warned though, this beer has an overall banana quality that can be a bit overpowering. highly drinkable even if it is a little too gassy.

Draught at Capone’s: Aroma of dust, brown paper bag, slight lemon, and a hint of wheat. Poured dark yellow/flaxen in color with a small, dense, white head that lasted throughout. Very hazy. Slightly sparkling. Ok lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of wheat, yeast, slight spices, slight coriander, banana, and bubblegum. Light to medium body. Slightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Yeast, wheat, and light spice finish. Not bad for a German Hefe, but I prefer the somewhat bolder US versions.

500ml bottle at home. Pours a hazy orange/golden color with a nice white head. Aroma is very fruity with mostly banana. Flavor is sweet with some banana and yeast, palate is quite carbonated but still very well balanced. A good hefeweizen that goes well on a warm summer day.

Bottle- pours a very cloudy golden amber color. Solid white head. Scents of banana, citrus and clove. Flavors of the same with hints of lemon and grapefruit. Very carbonated, almost a tad much for me. Good Hefe overall.

Pours a beautiful hazy peach with huge frothy white head that lingers nicely. Aroma is loaded with grapefruit and lemon citrus, in addition to yeasty spice such as clove and banana. Flavor is an incredible balance of citrus sweetness and caramel malt. Very floral and sweet, finishing with lingering citrus. Palate is very rich for the style, starting creamy and finishing dry and clean. Amazing example of the style.

Pours a nice cloudy golden yellow, nice bright white head. Smells of wheat, citrus, and spices. Very good Weisse.
