4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 pootzboy (1451) - Hawgville, Ontario, - SEP 27, 20121/2 liter bottle, 4 weeks dron rackin - I’ve sampled this, and other Ayinger beers, at beer festivals and tastings before and I’d rate this small independent Bavarian craft brewer to be one of the best in Germany (which is saying a lot) at consistently hitting the mark and exceeding the parameters and characteristics of the Teutonic beer styles. This particular Hefeweiss has all the bubble-gum, clove and banana esters and phenols in spades and the body and character of the beer is fairly robust for a wheat ale. Big fluffy cap, big flavour - deep fruitiness, some spice, low on noble hoppin but a nice malt mixture is evident without being cloying -, natural sparkling effervescence, quenching with a dry finish – a superior Hefe, if not the best.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Marstonlad (175) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 25, 2013
Pours hazy, very light yellow with a thin white head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma has lots of fresh citrus fruitiness and spices - almost witbierlike - and a hint of banana. Taste is crisp, smooth and very fruity - citrus, lemon, and spices with some wheaty maltiness. Palate is light bodied, average carbonation. Very refreshing.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jd7h (4) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 25, 2013 does not count
Sweet warm-weather beer with lemon and banana taste. Boring at room-temperature, but I think it’s better when you drink it cold. Strong flowery and fruity aroma, but not very adventurous.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 MrHangover (1103) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAY 19, 2013
Bottle. Pours a cloudy, light orange color like any typical hefeweizen would. However, as soon as the cap has been taken off, there comes a lovely, full aroma of banana and vanilla with light, subtle hints of wheat. Wow, never smelled it that clear in a hefeweizen. Flavor and mouthfeel are incredibly soft and subtle, medium sweet with a short finish. Thirst quenching for sure and damn sessionable. I could drink this all day if I’d had that much.. Great hefeweizen!
