Commercial Description:
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

Bottle 500ml sampled with Beerded_one. Pours hazy golden with a large monsterous white head. Aroma of Bananas, citrus, wheat, and sweetness. Flavor is smooth, citrus, banana, wheat, mild carbonation, and spices. Body is a little thin. But a very good Hefeweizen.

Probably an old bottle that had also been frozen once or twice in the cooler at Buffalo Wild Wings in Noerthwest,IN. They aren’t the beer geeks that the staff in INdy are!!! Big lemony nose, but head wasn’t all that big. Some acidic zestiness (almost soapy) hides behind the big lemon/wheat flavor. I’m sure this is much better fresh, and correctly poured from a tapper!

Wonderful wheat with rich vanilla aroma and flavor. Super-refreshing. Great big rocky long-lasting head. I like.

Light banana and lemony ester aroma. Furious clearish gold pour. Rocky top of super foam. Flavor, an almost distant smoky sweetness. Plain estery malt, with edges of banana, faint toast and light celery. Nice body. Smacks a little unexciting. Not the most fulfilling of weisses for me. Slight sourness. Light apple skin balance. Smacks of grain husks.

500 ml bottle. Should have read the description before I poured: kicks up a BIG head in my small weizen glass. Foam becomes rocky as it settles atop a very cloudy yellow body, almost in wit territory. Smell carries notes of clove and citrus, while the usual banana smell is in the background. Tasting instantly brings up lemon zest, some more banana, and sweet Bavarian malts. Yeasty, but in a good way. Can’t find those flowery impressions they speak of, but that would be the first thing to be lost on a long import trip. I can see calling it "dry," but not by much. Certainly does NOT need a lemon slice in it, it’s fine by itself.

With Ayinger Weisse it is becoming increasing hard to find fresh bottles. It seems like this beer doesn’t sell very well in the states and there are old bottles everywhere. Cloudy Grapefruit. Zesty, barely there aroma with notes of cloves, fruit and orange. There isn’t much here. Citrusy, with notes of banana, clove and orange, along with a nice musty yeast taste and a fairly nice finish.

A great hefe from the country who knows how to do it. Pour was a nice murky gold with a 2 finger white head. Aroma was of banana and lemon with yeast in there as well. Taste was banana, lemon and wheat with a nice cold crisp mouthfeel and dry aftertaste> Very great for this style.

Lightly hazy yellow with a white cover. Banana aroma, bubblegum, cloves. Sweet fruity malt, bananas/bubblegum and a light spice finish.
