Comes in the typical Ayinger slopped 500ml brown bottle..same simple label..and painted cap.
Very nice loking beer bright yellow and hazy with a very large pure white head.
Lovelly german hefe aroma..but this has more "spiciness" than bananas..also more wheat sourness is detetcted than usual.
Tatse is very nice as expected from the aroma the banana taste is muted..but theres an attractive creamyness to the beer, slightly bitter aftertaste.
Strangelly for it having a creamy flavour the mouthfeel doesnt hold out..it becomes rather watery near the end.
Drinkable summer beer..but far from the best of the style Andrew196 (1091), Katy, Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 21, 2002 Probably the best hefe I have had. The tartness gives it something more than Paulaner or Pyramid. Enormous head! Huge! Nice cloudy gold with yeast floating within. Went down smooth with lots of sweetness turning to tartness in the end. Good work Ayinger! You make good stuff. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Feb 20, 2004 Initial observation was that this beer very pale colored, unfiltered, almost milky. Nice head that never quit. The most striking thing about this beer was its potent aroma. Fruity, apples, a lot of esters. The nose didn't reflect on the taste at all. The flavor was very dry, the champagne description hit right on the spot. Very bubbly and effervescent mouthfeel. jredmond (1090), New Jersey, USA
