Commercial Description:
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

draught. tapped a cloudy yellow with white head. smelled like banana, citrus, and wheat. taste was lemony with a hint of light clove. had a very spritzy, astringent feel in the mouth. finishes dry. one of the better hefes that I have had in awhile.

[Bottle, thanks Guerde] Pours hazy orange with a big, white head. At first the aroma is completely dominated by yeast with banana more of a role player than the star. As it warmed, the banana did become more evident. The taste is banana up front, then yeast with a bit of a grain. Medium-thick mouthfeel. Finish is decent with banana and grain. Overall it is fairly good, but didn’t overly impress. I’m not sure on how old this bottle is though, and I’m sure the trip over from Germany doesn’t help it. Would like to try this fresh some time.

Pours a beautiful hazy peach with huge frothy white head that lingers nicely. Aroma is loaded with grapefruit and lemon citrus, in addition to yeasty spice such as clove and banana. Flavor is an incredible balance of citrus sweetness and caramel malt. Very floral and sweet, finishing with lingering citrus. Palate is very rich for the style, starting creamy and finishing dry and clean. Amazing example of the style.

500 mL. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a large, white head. Aroma of bananas, cloves, yeast, lemon. Taste is relatively light with some citrus, spice and fairly high carbonation. Crisp finish. Excellent wheat beer.

A fairly standard hazy yellow and large white head start off this brew. A nice nose, with strong yeast/wheat elements and some spice, as well. Flavor is pretty mild, and it's a pretty nice, easy drinking wheat. It does lack real depth of character, but it's still a good brew for a hot summer's day.

Interesting foggy honey color with great head and lace. Citrusy/banana smell with a definite hint of flowers. I may tend to agree with the lemon and vanilla description. Rather thin and mild yet there is a complex maltiness that tickles the palate. I think this may be a bit overrated, as it seems a bit watered down for a good wheat, but it’s pleasantly refreshing....did I mention how cool the bottle caps are?

Aroma is tons of bananas and cream with a slight acidity and wheatiness. Taste is crisp, low ph, yeast, and lemon. Finish is creamy, and touches of caramel. Solid
