COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Delicious lemon and vanilla scented wheat beer with yeast. This is an aristocratic beer with a champagne sparkle and a beautifully sustained head. With the pale color of mountain honey and tart refreshing palate, it is a "brut" beer with the delicious, complex fruitiness of extra-dry champagne. Bottle conditioned and top fermented, it is a benchmark for this style of beer. The nose is fruity-spicy, herbaceous with lots of flowers, and fruit. With such a creamy head, you can build miniature mountains that resemble the Alps. Pour slowly, fill the special weissbier glass half full and swirl the bottle on the table to put the yeast in suspension.

At the nose I get citrus and a hint of vanilla. It smells very vibrant and cheerful if that makes any sense. I think that’s usually the aroma of cloves. Pours a very hazy gold with a long-lasting head and bubbles that seem to never stop streaming upward, a la champagne. Up front , the taste isn’t too far from some form of pink bubble gum, but as it moves into palate that changes to banana, the main characteristic of this aftertaste. This is a top of its class hefeweizen without a doubt. It seems like all Ayinger products are at the top of their genre. One of the aspirations of my life is to drink at least one of these days every single day.

Tap pour. Light, cloudy yellow. Aroma is breakfast cereal, mild under arm, wet wool and German yeast. Taste is Asian pears, wheat, funky yeast, with a burnt finish. Chewy.

Pours a hazy golden color with a delighfully light and fluffy white head. Aroma is wheat, yeast, bread, banana, spice, vanilla, lemon, and a slight floral note. Taste is yeast, banana, vanilla, a slightly spicy floral, and lemon. Texture is pleasant, creamy and dry. Overall a fantastic beer, great at sunset in the summer.

Very solid beer and a great example of it’s style. Nose has banana, a touch of spice and vanilla. The colour is cloudy gold with plenty of bubbles rising into the rocky foam cap. The flavour is banana popsicle, hints of vanilla, and lemon peel. Smooth and refreshing on a warm day. Prickly carbonation makes for a lively mouth feel and the fruitiness lingers on in the after taste.

50cl in bottiglia.

On n’y trouve aucun défaut majeur.

Opaque pale gold honey color, pouring with very tall head. Flowery scent typical for a weissbier, taste of bananas and subtle lemon and vanilla.

500ml bottle bought at Gorgeous Wine & Cigar in Yuen Long.

Cloudy hazy pale straw golden colour with lots of dirt- like yeast sediments; One finger head with crumpety white foam which lasted for 2 minutes; Very good sticky lacing and notable carbonation; Very fragment aroma of wheat malt, with banana, vanilla, bubblegum, champagne bubbles, caramel, light pineapple, sugar, cloves, spices, light malt, strong yeast, lemon and very light grass; Tart and light sweet taste of light malt, with vanilla, light banana, light caramel, strong wheat, faint red fruits, light phenolic, strong cloves, spices, strong yeast, light lemon and very light grassy hops; Mid to light body. Crisp and smooth palate; Mouth feel is strong wheatyness but not very tart in a solid body. Very smooth to the tongue which brings out the vanilla and caramel. Banana ester is light with shades of red fruits. Light phenolic weith good cloves and spices. Quite yeasty with matching light malt. Solid!... Hoppiness is fragrant light lemon and loe grassy hops in nose and taste. Bitterness is typical weiss low-fi but notable in background for a mostly wheaty light tart finish; Quite dry after taste, very easy and smooth to mouth.

Comments: This one’s main forte are its quite fragrant banana ester and lemony hops aroma, plus smoothness in palate. I also think this one is quite well-balanced, with aromatic hops and clove spicy elements being well expressed without amplifying its chemical aspects. Still, For richness and smoothness, this one cannot top the Neumarkter Lammsbräu Weisse. All in all, very solid and functional, a nice one if the price is right. (Lammsbräu and Paulaner are cheaper, BTW)
